A control information interpretation method for use in a mobile communication system including a terminal and a base station, wherein the terminal receives, from the base station, control information including transport block information and DeModulation Reference Signal (DM-RS) antenna port allocation indication information, checks a number of the transport blocks allocated to the terminal based on the transport block information, and interpreting the DM-RS antenna port allocation indication information according to the number of transport blocks.

A method and apparatus for mapping/demapping a resource efficiently in a wireless communication system are provided. A resource mapping method of a transmitter in a wireless communication system includes precoding pairs of symbols, arranging the pairs of precoded symbols adjacently in a resource block, and transmitting the pairs of precoded symbols in the resource block.

A method and apparatus for transmitting/receiving reference signals in Long Term Evolution (LTE) and LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) systems includes determining whether a dedicated reference signal is detected in a current subframe; estimating, if a dedicated reference signal is detected in the current subframe, a data channel using the dedicated reference signal to receive data; and estimating, if no dedicated reference signal is detected in the current subframe, a data channel using a common reference signal detected in the current subframe to receive data. The transmission scheme uses a DeModulation Reference Signal (DM-RS) for channel response estimation. To secure backward compatibility of the LTE-A system, a Common Reference Signal is transmitted in normal subframes.

A method for processing a Channel State Information Reference Signal (CSI-RS) in a wireless communication system based on a multiple access scheme is provided. The CSI-RS transmission method defines a plurality of CSI-RS patterns, assigns the CSI-RS patterns to individual cells, uses the CSI-RSs alternately per Physical Resource Block (PRB) so as to utilize the transmission powers of all antenna ports for transmitting CSI-RSs, transmits Coordinated Multi Point (CoMP) CSI-RSs and non-CoMP CSI-RSs separately, and mutes specific resources in association with the CSI-RS pattern of adjacent cells.

The present invention relates to a channel status information transmission/reception method and apparatus in a wireless communication system in which the transmission apparatus generates channel status informations for at least two transmission schemes by combining rank informations corresponding to the transmission schemes into combined rank information through analyzing an uplink channel, and transmits the channel status informations for the respective transmission schemes on uplink channel, the channel status information for one of the transmission schemes containing the combined rank information; the reception apparatus receives the channel status informations corresponding to at least two transmission schemes, the channel status information for one of the transmission schemes including combined rank information for the transmission schemes, schedules downlink channel according to the channel status information, and transmits signals on the downlink channel. According to the present invention, the transmission apparatus combines rank informations of a plurality of transmission schemes and feeds back the combined rank information so as to reduce overhead at a reception apparatus.

A method includes determining, by a receiver, a candidate Antenna Port (AP) set from among a plurality of APs; selecting an active AP set from the candidate AP set; and transmitting the candidate AP set, the active AP set, and the downlink CSI of active APs included in the active AP set.

A transmission method and apparatus utilizing Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output (MIMO) precoding based on Distributed Antenna Systems (DASs) are provided. The transmission method includes determining active antenna ports, for a User Equipment (UE) having multiple receive antennas, from among a plurality of Distributed Antenna Ports (DAPs) evenly placed in a service area; assigning a Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output (MIMO) mode to the UE and notifying the UE of the MIMO mode assignment; determining a signal precoding vector on a basis of feedback information for the MIMO mode received from the UE; and precoding a signal using the signal precoding vector and transmitting the precoded signal through the active antenna ports.
