Abstract: A display device including: scan lines including first and second scan lines; pixels connected to the scan lines; photo sensors connected to some of the scan lines, the photo sensors including a first photo sensor connected to the first scan line and a readout line, and a second photo sensor connected to the second scan line and the readout line; a scan driver to provide scan signals to the scan lines; and a readout circuit to receive, through the readout line, detection signals which are outputted from the photo sensors in response to the scan signals, wherein, while the scan signals are provided to the first and second scan lines, the readout circuit samples a detection signal of one of the first photo sensor and the second photo sensor without sampling a detection signal of the other one of the first photo sensor and the second photo sensor.

Abstract: A display device includes a display panel including a plurality of touch electrodes, a touch driving circuit electrically connected to the plurality of touch electrodes, and a fingerprint sensor device disposed on one surface of the display panel and including a plurality of unit blocks. The fingerprint sensor device includes a plurality of fingerprint scan lines extending in a first direction, a plurality of fingerprint sensing lines extending in a second direction crossing the first direction, a plurality of sensor pixels respectively connected to the plurality of fingerprint scan lines and the plurality of fingerprint sensing lines, and a fingerprint scan driver having a plurality of stages for applying a fingerprint scan signal to each of the plurality of fingerprint scan lines. The touch driving circuit applies a start signal to the fingerprint scan driver.

Abstract: A method of compensating for stains caused by deterioration of a display device, the display device including an illuminance sensor and a display panel including pixels and an optical fingerprint sensor, the method including determining, while in a test mode of the display device and via the illuminance sensor, whether an illuminance is a reference value or less, emitting, while in the test mode of the display device, first color light from the display panel when the illuminance is the reference value or less, and acquiring, while in the test mode of the display device, afterimage compensation data relating to amounts of deterioration of the pixels by receiving the first color light through an optical fingerprint sensor.

Abstract: A display device comprises a display panel which comprises scan lines, sensing lines, pixels electrically connected to each of the scan lines, and photo sensors electrically to each of the scan lines and the sensing lines, a scan driver which outputs scan signals to the scan lines according to a scan control signal, a timing controller which outputs the scan control signal to the scan driver, and a readout circuit which receives light sensing signals of the photo sensors from the sensing lines. The timing controller sets a frame frequency of the scan control signal to a first frame frequency in a first mode in which the display panel displays an image. The timing controller sets the frame frequency of the scan control signal to a second frame frequency in a second mode in which the photo sensors sense a fingerprint.

Abstract: A fingerprint sensor includes a substrate, a light blocking layer that is on a first surface of the substrate and includes openings in a light blocking mask, and a sensor layer that is on a second surface of the substrate and includes photo sensors. A fingerprint sensing method of the fingerprint sensor includes: storing a calibration image; generating an original image, based on sensing signals from the photo sensors; performing calibration on the original image by utilizing the calibration image; and detecting a fingerprint, based on the calibrated image. The calibration image is generated by synthetizing valid regions extracted from an original calibration image corresponding to the original image.

The sensor driver compares fingerprint data generated based on a sensing signal generated from reflected light by a user's fingerprint with prestored reference data to generate a fingerprint image.
