Abstract: A dual subscriber identity module (SIM) dual standby (DSDS) device may determine that the DSDS device is to communicate in a first communication session of the DSDS device instead of a second communication session of the DSDS device when the first communication session of the DSDS device and the second communication session of the DSDS device are contemporaneously active. The DSDS device may generate a session initiation protocol (SIP) message to pause the second communication session with another device based on the determination that the DSDS device is to communicate in the first communication session instead of the second communication session associated with the DSDS device. The DSDS device may transmit the generated SIP message to the other device associated with second communication session to pause the second communication session associated with the other device.

Abstract: A UE may identify an offset period associated with an NTN cell based on a SIB. The UE may identify a TA value associated with the NTN cell for the UE based on a location of the UE and a location of a satellite of the NTN cell. The UE may identify whether the TA value associated with the NTN cell for the UE is less than the offset period associated with the NTN cell. The UE may block the NTN cell for a first duration or until a reboot of the UE if the TA value associated with the NTN cell for the UE is greater than the offset period associated with the NTN cell.

A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) generally includes participating in a voice call with a base station using a channel and a bit rate for the voice call, measuring one or more channel quality metrics for the channel during the voice call, determining whether to transmit a query message to the base station to request a change in the bit rate based, at least in part, on the measured one or more channel quality metrics, at least one of a handover indication received from the base station or a change mode request received from the base station, and a prohibit timer, and taking one or more actions based on the determination.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatuses for providing notifications in a communication network of a plurality of Internet of Things (IoT) devices. In an aspect, a supervisor device in the communication network detects a notification directed to a wireless mobile device in the communication network and sends at least one instruction to at least a first IoT device of the plurality of IoT devices to reduce an operating volume or suspend operation of the first IoT device. The first IoT device receives the at least one instruction from the supervisor device and reduces the operating volume of the IoT device or suspends the operation of the IoT device in response to the at least one instruction.
