Abstract:
A process of treating aqueous condensate which is formed as a result of the cooling of raw gas produced by the gasification of solid fuels under a pressure of 5 to 150 bars. The condensate formed as a result of the cooling is at a temperature of at least 110.degree. C. and under a pressure of at least 2 bars and at least part of it is pressure-relieved. The flashed-off vapor is removed and the pressure-relieved condensate is fed to a separator, from which a condensate phase consisting mainly of water is withdrawn. The condensate or a portion thereof is used as a coolant for the raw gas. The flashed-off vapor may be burnt.
Abstract:
A plasma treatment apparatus for treating elongated clear polymeric tubing, by moving the tubing through a plasma generation chamber and maintaining tension on the tubing below that at which clarity of the tubing is reduced.
Abstract:
Fossil fuels such as coal or oil are gasified by treatment under superatmospheric pressures with oxygen containing gasifying agents to produce a primary gas containing carbon monoxide and hydrogen. The primary gas is desulfurized and converted in increasing portion into methanol which is stored as the load on the power plant increases. An increasing proportion of the stored methanol is used in addition to desulfurized primary gas in the power plant as the load on the power plant increases.
Abstract:
An electrical plug connector based on the push-pull system, with a plug component and a matching plug component that can be connected to the plug component, both of which each include one or several associated electrical contacts held by a contact carrier, and with a locking mechanism that is provided on the plug component and includes at least one movable locking element with a latch surface that is associated, on the matching plug component, with a fixed locking element with a matching surface for the latch surface. The plug component includes a plug component housing with an axially displaceable sliding sleeve with an actuation element for the locking element formed on the inside wall, wherein, when the plug component is connected to the matching plug component, a—in the plug-in direction—frontal section of the circumferential wall area of the plug component housing overlaps the matching plug component on the outside in a plug-in area. The locking element projects radially beyond an inner surface of the circumferential wall area, and the locking of the locking element with the matching locking element is achieved by moving the locking element transversely to the plug-in direction of the plug connector along the circumferential wall area.
Abstract:
A method of controlling a digital printing system that uses multiple metadata packets is provided. A controller including a metadata channel is provided. Information in a first metadata packet that is associated with an initial point of interest of a media is provided by a primary metadata packet creation unit. The first metadata packet is inserted into the metadata channel of the controller. A second metadata packet including new information associated with a new point of interest of the media is created using a secondary metadata creation unit. The second metadata packet with the new formation is inserted into the metadata channel of the controller based on the location of the new point of interest of the media.
Abstract:
An electrical plug connector part with a locking nut that is rotatable relative to the plug body and can be screwed onto an associated matching plug part and that is secured against unintentional rotation relative to the plug body by matched latch elements, wherein first latch elements are rigid and are molded onto the locking nut, and corresponding second latch elements are mounted rotation-proof and with spring action on the plug body. The locking nut and the plug body of the plug connector part have an equal number N of first and second latch elements that are spaced from each other and are arranged in sequence in circumferential direction, with the first latch elements being located on an inner circumference of the locking nut, and the second latch elements being located on an outer circumference of the plug body. The spacing of the first latch elements is different than that of second latch elements. The N first and second latch elements do not follow each other directly, with the first latch elements specifically not forming a locking ring gear.
Abstract:
An improvement in a known process and apparatus for gasifying coal with water vapor and oxygen under pressure and at elevated temperature wherein coal is dropped onto a grate within a reactor supplied with gasifying agent from below, product gas being withdrawn above. In accordance with the invention an annular wall depends from the reactor top to form an annular gas space through which product gas is withdrawn. The annular space surrounds the top of the coal bed so the coal is preheated thereby. The wall is provided with apertures so that at least 20% of the product gas enters the annular space by traversing that part of the coal bed surrounded by the wall. This results in reduced product gas velocity and entrainment of coal dust.
Abstract:
Gravity separation process for removing tar from water in a condensate formed by the cooling of a raw gas produced by the gasification or dry distillation of solid fuel such as coal. The tar and water condensate formed by cooling the raw gas to about 100.degree. C is enriched in a tar-water separator with ammonium carbonate to a concentration of least 5 grams NH.sub.3 per kg H.sub.2 O. The cooling can be carried out in a plurality of stages with the hotter condensate from at least one of the first cooling stages being mixed at a weight ratio of 10:1 to 1:2 with colder condensate from at least one of the succeeding cooling stages.
Abstract:
Gases produced by reacting fuels with oxygen containing gases and water vapor under pressure are desulfurized by scrubbing with a concentrated solution of one or more alkali salts of weak inorganic acids at a temperature near the atmospheric-pressure boiling point of the solution in a column while maintaining an exchange ratio of from 0.2 to 2.0 cubic meters of the concentrated solution per standard cubic meter hydrogen sulfide in the gas to be purified.
Abstract:
A method of controlling a digital printing system includes updating information provided to a metadata packet. Information is provided in a metadata packet that is associated with a point of interest of a media. The location of the point of interest of the media is monitored as the media moves through the digital printing system along a media path. An operating parameter of the digital printing system is monitored. The initially provided information in the metadata packet that is associated with the point of interest is modified based on the monitored operating parameter of the digital printing system and the monitored location of the point of interest of the media.
