Abstract:
Performing map construction under a crowded environment where there are a lot of people. It includes a successive image acquisition unit that obtains images that are taken while a robot is moving, a local feature quantity extraction unit that extracts a quantity at each feature point from the images, a feature quantity matching unit that performs matching among the quantities in the input images, where quantities are extracted by the extraction unit, an invariant feature quantity calculation unit that calculates an average of the matched quantities among a predetermined number of images by the matching unit as an invariant feature quantity, a distance information acquisition unit that calculates distance information corresponding to each invariant feature quantity based on a position of the robot at times when the images are obtained, and a map generation unit that generates a local metrical map as a hybrid map.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a position estimation device including a feature extraction unit that extracts invariant features from an input image, a matching unit that obtains matching between an input image and a registered place by referring to a database containing each registered place and invariant features in association, a similarity calculation unit that calculates a similarity with inclusion of a registered place near a selected registered place when the matching is a threshold or more, and a position identification unit that identifies the input image as a registered place when the similarity is a threshold or more. The feature extraction unit extracts local features from each input image being sequential images taken sequentially, selects features matched between the sequential images as sequential features, and calculates invariant features based on the sequential features. The number of sequential images is variable depending on the number of matched features.
Abstract:
A receiver for the CDMA system which reduces power consumption during a suspension period of intermittent receiving operation by monitoring a suspension period by a low-power timer so that a VC-TCXO, reference signal group generation and receiving units are turned off and a modem unit is set to a sleep state. Upon resumption of receiving operation, a high-accuracy timer is started to count a time period and part of a received signal is stored. A PN code phase of stored data is calculated during the time period to obtain an indication value for phase deviation. State vectors for short and long codes and a further reception time are calculated based on the indication value. When the high-accuracy timer counts the time period and produces 0V(d), demodulation operation by a rake demodulation, demultiplexing, and descrambler units is started and is continued during the reception time.
Abstract:
A method of and system for manufacturing a microstructure having high form accuracy and a manufacturing system is disclosed. On a rough motion stage having a predetermined positioning accuracy and a large stroke length, a fine motion stage having a small stroke length and a higher positioning accuracy is placed. First, the rough motion stage is moved to a desired position. By use of a mirror placed on a laser length measuring machine and the fine motion stage, the current position of a thin film member on the fine motion stage is precisely measured. This measurement value is feed-backed to a stage control device, and a difference between the current position and a target position is calculated by an error correcting unit. Thus, an error correcting instruction value is generated to move the fine motion stage to the target position. Thus, an error of the rough motion stage is corrected.

A vibration-proof structure for a metallic electrical packaging case includes a metallic electrical packaging case and a coupling member. The coupling member connects an outer wall of the metallic electrical packaging case and a member forming a side wall of a vehicle. Also, the coupling member may include an engaging portion at one end of the coupling member, which is used for temporarily fixing the coupling member, and an insertion engaging portion, which is engaged with a portion of the member forming the side wall of the vehicle, formed at another end of the coupling member.

When a receiving end is a cellular phone, the cellular phone that displays the local time at the receiving end and a base station used in this cellular phone are realized. A time recognition unit that obtains the local time at the receiving end using the time information acquired from the cellular phone of the receiving end or the base station at which the cellular phone of the receiving end is registered in stand-by mode and a display unit that displays the local time are installed in the cellular phone. Further, when the time information or position information of the cellular phone registered in the base station in stand-by mode is requested from the calling end, a unit for sending the time information or position information at the location at which this base station exists to the cellular phone of a requesting source is installed in the base station.

A high voltage electrical packaging box structure includes a box body, and a high voltage electrical part which is accommodated in the box body. In the high voltage electrical packaging box, an interposing member which is formed using an expandable resin, is disposed between the box body and the high voltage electric part. Air may be pass through the inside of the box body so as to cool down the high voltage electric part placed in the box body.

In an AFC ((Automatic Frequency Control) circuit, a frequency offset estimating circuit (11) produces a lock signal (102) if a calculated frequency error becomes smaller than a predetermined value. Then, a CPU (13) produces a control signal (104) to stop the operation of the frequency offset estimating circuit (11). A timing generating circuit (14) calculates a frequency error with reference to a frame timing correction amount from a delay profile/search circuit (12), and produces an unlock signal (103) if the frequency error becomes equal to or greater than the predetermined value. Then, the CPU (13) produces the control signal (104) to start the operation of the frequency offset estimating circuit (11). Thus, the frequency offset estimating circuit (11) stops its operation while the AFC operation is in the locked state.

A battery temperature regulating apparatus efficiently controls the charging temperature of a battery assembly which serves as a power source to energize a propulsive motor on an electric vehicle to run on a road. A fluid jacket is disposed in heat exchange relationship with the battery assembly and supplied with a coolant to regulate the temperature of the battery assembly with a radiator or an electric heater for allowing the battery assembly to be charged in a temperature range from 20.degree. C. to 35.degree. C., for example, which is optimum for the charging of the battery assembly. The battery temperature regulating apparatus can maintain the optimum temperature range more reliably than a conventional apparatus which regulates the temperature of the battery assembly as it is charged with a forced flow of hot air or cool air, and can reduce the electric energy consumption to 1/3 of that of the conventional apparatus.

Abstract:
The present invention aims to cool high tension electrical equipment efficiently with a small, lightweight device. The high tension electrical equipment cooling structure is provided for cooling batteries which supply electricity to the operating motor via an inverter, and the inverter using cooling air, and comprises an equipment box for guiding cooling air introduced from a cooling air inlet port into a cooling air outlet port, and a fan for introducing cooling air from the cooling air inlet port. A shutter that consists of an elastic material is disposed inside the intake duct. The shutter closes off the cooling air flow path, and when negative pressure is generated downstream of the shutter due to the operation of the fan, the shutter undergoes elastic deformation, and as a result, the cooling air flow path is opened.
