Abstract: A wireless communication system, apparatus, and methodology are described for enabling wireless communication devices to generate extended range Physical Layer Protocol Data Units (PPDUs) for wireless transmission to a destination communication devices by generating, at a first wireless communication device, a data sequence in which a plurality of repeated data symbols are encoded for wireless transmission to the second communication device, and then applying a scrambling sequence that is known to the first and second communication devices to the data sequence to generate an output data sequence wherein the plurality of repeated data symbols are pseudo-randomized prior to performing an inverse Fourier transform on the output data sequence.

Abstract: In an IEEE 802.11 wireless system, a wireless relay STA is configured to receive a MAC control frame to protect a transmission opportunity for a relay operation of frames exchanged between a first STA and a second STA over a wireless relay STA, where the MAC control frame includes TXOP duration information, a receiver address identifying the wireless relay STA, and a transmitter address identifying the first STA, where the wireless relay STA is further configured to transmit an RTS frame in response to receiving the MAC control frame, to receive a CTS frame that is transmitted by the second STA in response to receiving the RTS frame, to transmit a CTS-ACK frame in response to receiving the CTS frame, and to receive and forward a data frame from the first STA which is transmitted at a first TXOP-protected transmission time designated by the TXOP duration information.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses and methods described herein provide a method for padding a signal extension of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols. A transceiver may obtain a plurality of data symbols for transmission, and determine that a number of information bits for a last symbol of the plurality of data symbols is not an integer value. A special padding rule may be applied to add padding bits to the last symbol. A number of coded bits for the last symbol may be determined when the number of information bits for the last symbol has changed, and the plurality of data symbols for data transmission may be encoded based on the determined number of coded bits for the last symbol.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for operating a Basic Service Set (BSS) are disclosed. A method involves announcing, by a first wireless device to a second wireless device, a BSS operating channel, wherein the first wireless device has at least one of a first transmission power capability and a first bandwidth capability, the second wireless device has at least one of a second transmission power capability that is less than the first transmission power capability and a second bandwidth capability that is narrower than the first bandwidth capability, and wherein the BSS operating channel is at least one of a punctured operating channel and an unpunctured operating channel, associating, by the second wireless device, with the first wireless device via the announcement of the BSS operating channel from the first wireless device, and exchanging frames between the first wireless device and the second wireless device in the BSS operating channel.
