    Abstract: A wireless device determines a Basic Service Set (BSS) associated with a wireless transmitter by receiving a first frame, determining an address of the first frame, receiving a second frame, and determining, using the address of the first frame, a property of the second frame. Determining the property of the second frame may include determining whether the second frame is intra-BSS frame or an inter-BSS frame. Determining the property of the second frame may be performed by comparing an address of the second frame with the address of the first frame, and the second frame determined to be an intra-BSS frame when the address of the first frame matches the address of the second frame, and determined to be an inter-BSS frame otherwise. The address of the first frame may be a transmitter address (TA).

    Abstract: In wireless communications for a 20 megahertz (MHz) channel bandwidth, a first device may determine a high efficiency long training field (HE-LTF) mode. The first device may generate an HE-LTF symbol by using a portion or an entirety of an HE-LTF sequence corresponding to the channel bandwidth and HE-LTF mode. The first device may transmit, in the channel bandwidth, a high efficiency physical layer protocol data unit (HE PPDU) that includes the HE-LTF symbol. A second device may receive, in the 20 MHz channel bandwidth, a downlink HE PPDU that includes an HE-LTF symbol. The second device may obtain, from the HE-LTF symbol, a portion or an entirety of an HE-LTF sequence corresponding to the channel bandwidth and an HE-LTF mode of the HE-LTF symbol. The downlink HE PPDU may be the HE PPDU from the first device. Other methods, apparatus, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

    Abstract: A transmitting device may perform mid-packet detection (MPD) in a wireless channel by receiving a signal from the wireless channel, detecting first symbols having a first symbol duration in the signal during a first detection window, and detecting second symbols having a second symbol duration in the signal during a second detection window. The first and second symbol durations, excluding CPs, may be 3.2 and 12.8 microseconds respectively. A transmitting device may perform MPD in a wireless channel by receiving a signal from the channel, performing an MPD of symbols in the signal, producing first and second comparison result by comparing an output of the MDP to respective first and second thresholds, and determine whether to transmit a frame using the first comparison result and the second comparison result.

    Abstract: The embodiments provide a method implemented by a network device for transmitting link adaptation feedback in a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) that supports multi-user simultaneous transmission. The method generates and transmits a frame that includes one or more link adaptation feedback values associated with a wireless communications link between the network device and a second network device. In one aspect, the one or more link adaptation feedback values may include a link adaptation feedback value for an entire operation bandwidth of the wireless communications link and a link adaptation feedback value for a given subchannel within the operation bandwidth. In another aspect, link adaptation feedback values for one or more users of a multi-user simultaneous transmission are transmitted in a multi-user acknowledgment (ACK) frame. The embodiments allow for efficient link adaptation in a multi-user simultaneous transmission environment.

    Abstract: A wireless communication device in a wireless system may generate a High Efficiency Physical Layer Convergence Procedure (PLCP) Protocol Data Unit (HE PPDU) frame including (i) an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbol including padding bits and (ii) an extension having a non-zero signal strength, and transmit the HE PPDU frame. A High Efficiency signal (HE-SIG) field of the transmitted HE PPDU frame may include an indication for a duration of the extension to avoid ambiguity of the extension. A communication device in a wireless system may receive an HE PPDU frame including (i) an OFDM symbol including padding bits, and (ii) an extension having a non-zero signal strength, and transmit an Acknowledgement frame a predetermined inter-frame space after an end of the HE PPDU frame. An HE-SIG field of the received HE PPDU may include an indication for duration of the extension to avoid ambiguity of the extension.

    Abstract: A wireless device receives a Multi-User Request-To-Send (MU-RTS) frame, descrambles first scrambled data in the MU-RTS frame using a first scrambling sequence, generates second scrambled data using a second scrambling sequence, and transmits a Clear-to-Send (CTS) frame including the second scrambled data in response to receiving the MU-RTS frame. The second scrambling sequence is an N-bit left cyclic shift of the first scrambling sequence. Another wireless device generates first scrambled data using a first scrambling sequence and transmits an MU-RTS frame including the first scrambled data. The wireless device receives a CTS frame transmitted in response to the MU-RTS frame, and descrambles second scrambled data in the CTS frame using a second scrambling sequence. The second scrambling sequence is an N-bit left cyclic shift of the first scrambling sequence. In either device, N may be 7, and lengths of the first and second scrambling sequences may be 127 bits.

    Abstract: A wireless device generates a High Efficiency Signal B (HE-SIG-B) field by Block Convolution Code (BCC) encoding and rate-matching a BCC block of the HE-SIG-B field, generates a Physical Layer Protocol Data Unit (PPDU) including the HE-SIG-B field, and transmits the PPDU. A total number N is a total number of bits of the HE-SIG-B field that precede the BCC block, and is greater than 0. The BCC block has a puncturing pattern depending on the total number N. A wireless device receives a PPDU. The PPDU includes an HE-SIG-B field that includes an encoded BCC block. The wireless device de-rate-matches the encoded BCC block having a puncturing pattern depending on a total number N. The total number N is a total number of decoded bits of the HE-SIG-B field that preceded the BCC block, and the total number N is greater than 0.
