摘要: A photomultiplier includes a photoelectric surface for photoelectrically converting incident light and emitting electrons, and a plurality of stages of dynodes for multiplying the electrons. The photomultiplier includes a first dynode array including box-and-grid dynodes arranged in a vessel and a second dynode array including in-line dynodes arranged in the vessel. A dynode having a curved secondary electron emitting layer opposes both a secondary electron emitting layer of a last stage dynode of the first dynode array and a secondary electron emitting layer of a first-stage dynode of the second dynode array.

摘要: A waveform generating apparatus for generating waveforms which can be suitably employed in electronic musical instruments. The waveform generating apparatus calculates and generates regenerated sample data of a regenerated waveform having a desired pitch in synchronization with a constant regeneration sampling interval based on basic sample data which are sampled from a basic waveform by a predetermined basic sampling interval. The apparatus includes a phase generator, an operation mode control circuit and an interpolating circuit. The phase generator generates phase data which designates a phase of basic waveform. The operation mode control circuit supplies a calculation designating data. The interpolating circuit calculates regenerated sample data on the basis of basic sample data and phase data. Wherein, the method of the interpolation which is performed by the interpolating circuit is altered in response to calculation designating data. Thus, waveform can be regenerated accurately and with high fidelity over a wide range of pitches.

摘要: A musical tone generating apparatus is provided for an electronic musical instrument. The apparatus comprises a musical tone signal generating device and a parameter controller. The musical tone signal generating device generates a musical tone signal characterized by a tone parameter whose value is supplied from the parameter controller. The parameter controller comprises a target value generator and an interpolation device, which operate independently. The target value generator generates a target value of the tone parameter to the interpolation device, and the interpolation device interpolates between a present value of the tone parameter and the target value, so that the present value is renewed consecutively. The interpolation device generates an interrupt signal to the target value generator when the present value reaches the target value, so that an operation of the target value generator is interrupted then the target value generator operates to generate a new target value to the interpolation device in response to the interrupt signal. The parameter controller changes a characteristic of the musical tone signal such as a frequency characteristic or amplitude with respect to a lapse of time based on the present value of the tone parameter.

摘要: A record and reproduction controlling device is connected to a hard disk memory via a bus. This controlling device receives from a computer information necessary for read/write operation, on the basis of which the controlling device performs its own process to write to or read from the hard disk. The record and reproduction controlling device temporarily stores tone data read out from the hard disk memory into a first buffer memory and then transfers the tone data from the first buffer memory to a second buffer memory. The tone data thus stored in the second memory is then read out at a predetermined readout rate to reproduce a musical sound. It is possible to select either a first reproduction mode for reproducing a data file having tone data of plural channels recorded in an interleaved state, or a second reproduction mode for permitting a simultaneous reproduction of plural data files each having not-interleaved tone data recorded therein. The controlling device controls the tone data transfer from the first buffer memory to the second buffer memory depending on which of the reproduction modes is employed.

摘要: A musical tone generating apparatus is provided for a keyboard electronic musical instrument. The apparatus consists of a musical tone source, a coefficient generator, a digital filter and so on. The coefficient generator generates at least one time dependence coefficient, and applies It to output of the digital filter. The parameter controller changes at least one parameter, which designates tone color of the musical tone, in accordance with the time dependent coefficient to thereby realize time-variant changing rate of envelope of musical tone. And, the coefficient generator and the parameter controller are used by means of time sharing technique. That is, the coefficient is used as plural units, wherein each unit generates a coefficient in each stage, and the digital filter is also used as plural units. Each digital filter unit changes a parameter of tone color of the musical tone in accordance with the coefficient supplied thereto.

摘要: Sample data stored in a storage device, such as a hard disk, are sequentially read out and transferred to a buffer memory, and the sample data are read out from the buffer memory, one sample per sampling period. Sample data at addresses of the buffer memory, where sample data read out has been completed, are sequentially updated with sample data newly read out from the storage device. Jump-from address and jump-to address are set while the sample data are being read out, sample by sample, from the buffer memory. When the read address of the buffer memory reaches the set jump-from address, the read address of the buffer memory is caused to jump to the jump-to address to carry on reading out the sample data from the jump-to address onward. Such readout control for the address jump is used for reproduction of silent data and repetitive sound. Basic waveform data of a given tone stored in memory are read out and subjected to desired waveform editing arithmetic processing, so that the resultant edited waveform data are buffered. The thus-buffered edited waveform data are read out and audibly reproduced. The buffer memory includes a plurality of banks, and a plurality of channels are allocated to respective separate banks. Sample data of a plurality of channels are written into or read out from the corresponding banks by sequentially switching between the banks on a sample-by-sample basis.

摘要: A detector unit is provided which receives envelope signals related to a predetermined number N of channels to detect a channel showing a greatest or smallest level of the envelope signal among the N channels and outputs data indicative of the detected channel and the level of its envelope signal. When the total number M of the channels is larger than N, a plurality of the detector units are provided, the envelope signals of the number M of the channels are divided into groups numbering not more than N, and the groups are distributed to the respective detector units so that the channel of which level of the envelope signal is the greatest or smallest is detected in each of the detector units. The levels of the envelope signals of the channels detected by the respective detector units are compared with each other, and one detector unit connected with the channel of the greatest or smallest level of the envelope signal is identified. Thus, the channel detected by the identified one detector unit is designated as an extreme-value channel. The designated extreme-value channel is for example a truncating channel to be used for tone generation assignment process.
