Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving a Service Specific Scheduling Control Header (SSSCH) in a wireless communication system are provided, in which the SSSCH includes SSSCH type information and a Quality of Service (QoS) parameter change indicator. The SSSCH type information indicates at least one of a QoS parameter set change request, an ACKnowledgment (ACK) for a QoS parameter set change request, and a Negative ACK (NACK) for a QoS parameter set change request, and the QoS parameter change indicator indicates whether a QoS parameter set will be changed.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for managing resources for Peer-to-Peer (P2P) communication in a wireless communication system. A mobile station (MS) attempting to establish P2P communication receives a P2P amble signal transmitted on at least one adjacent P2P link, measures a signal strength for the P2P amble signal, reports the measurement results to a base station (BS), and performs the P2P communication using a P2P resource that is assigned by the ES according to the measurement results. The ES assigns a resource different from the resource assigned to a P2P link having a highest signal strength measured, as a resource for the P2P communication, thereby preventing possible interference caused by adjacent P2P links.

Abstract:
A method provides data communication while a Base Station (BS) is disrupted in a wireless communication system. The method includes, when a plurality of Mobile Stations (MSs) receive a preamble signal from a cluster header through a dedicated control channel while the BS is disrupted, sending a message requesting cluster member subscription to the cluster header, in the cluster header, including the plurality of MSs in a cluster member, configuring a cluster member list, and broadcasting the cluster member list, in a source MS among the plurality of MSs, sending a data transmission request message to the cluster header using the broadcasted cluster member list, in the cluster header, one of unicasting and broadcasting a response message for the data transmission request of the source MS, and, in the source MS, transmitting data to a target MS among the plurality of MSs based on the response message.

Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for providing a relay service in a Base Station (BS) of a communication system are provided. The method includes detecting a communication state with a backhaul of the communication system, transmitting backhaul error occurrence information to at least one Mobile Station (MS) located in a service coverage area when communication with the backhaul is interrupted, selecting a neighbor BS from among one or more neighbor BSs as a target BS, and providing a relay service by connecting with the target BS.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus of requiring uplink resources for transmitting a ranging request message in a communication system are provided. The method includes allocating an uplink bandwidth from a base station, and fragmentizing a Ranging Request (RNG-REQ) message into plural fragmented RNG-REQ messages, when the allocated bandwidth does not accommodate an entire RNG-REQ message, requesting an additional uplink bandwidth by transmitting one fragmented RNG-REQ message, and allocating an requested additional uplink bandwidth from the base station and transmitting a next one fragmented RNG-REQ message.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for obtaining synchronization of a terminal for communication between devices when a base station collapses are provided. The method includes, when a preamble signal is not received from the base station, maintaining a first synchronization for a predetermined time using a timer, transmitting a first preamble signal at a first synchronization point, performing a synchronization procedure with at least one neighbor terminal based on the first preamble signal, and, after the synchronization procedure, performing communication with the at least one neighbor terminal. In addition, when a preamble signal is not received from a base station, a first preamble signal from a relevant neighbor terminal is monitored for a predetermined time. When the first preamble signal is not received from the relevant neighbor terminal for the predetermined time, a second preamble signal is transmitted at an arbitrary point.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for supporting multicast communication in a broadband wireless access system are provided. A method of a Mobile Station (MS) for supporting multicast communication in a wireless access system includes acquiring decoding parameters by receiving an Advanced Air Interface Enhanced-Multicast and Broadcast Service configuration (AAI-E-MBS_CFG) message from a Base Station (BS), establishing an E-MBS service flow by sending and receiving AAI Dynamic Service Addition-request/response (AAI_DSA-REQ/RSP) messages to and from the BS, and decoding E-MBS MAP received from the BS through the established E-MBS service flow using the acquired decoding parameters. The E-MBS MAP includes information for decoding multicast bursts.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for searching for a peripheral device and transmitting device information in a device-to-device service. First information is transmitted using a first tone in a first region of a search duration. A second tone is determined by transposing a subcarrier index and a symbol index of the first tone. The first information is transmitted through the second tone in a second region of the search duration. First information of a peripheral device is received in the first and the second region of the search duration. The second information is transmitted through a resource region corresponding to the first tone in a third region of the search duration. Second information of the peripheral device is received in the third region of the search duration. Device information of the peripheral device is determined by combining the first and second information of the peripheral device.
