    摘要: A method, system, and computer-readable medium are provided for efficiently providing network services to client devices based on the network traffic to be communicated between the device and the network. A system is provided that includes a number of home agents configured to provide network services to mobile nodes. The system is configured in such a way that at least one of the mobile nodes may be served by more than one of the home agents. Thereby, for example, a certain mobile node may be provided voice service via one home agent and email messages via another.

    摘要: Techniques are provided for facilitating a channel change between multiple data streams. Such techniques provide for receiving and processing a first stream of data packets within a buffer. The method also includes receiving buffer control header with a data packet of a second stream. The buffer control header includes a buffer clearance indicator that indicates whether the second data stream request for the first data stream to be cleared from the buffer. Moreover, the method includes clearing the first data stream from the buffer based on the buffer clearance indicator. Furthermore, the method includes immediately processing the second stream through the buffer once the first stream is cleared.

    摘要: A communication network element comprises an I/O interface, memory, processing circuitry, and bus structure. The I/O interface receives and transfers a user packet. The memory stores the user packet, management software, and communication applications. The processing circuitry executes the management software to provide a manager and executes the communication applications to provide service functions. The service functions retrieve the user packet from the memory based on memory pointers, process the user packet, and store the processed user packet in the memory. The manager transfers the memory pointers between the service functions. The bus structure couples the I/O interface, the memory, and the processing circuitry.

    摘要: A method, system, and computer-readable media are provided for pausing a multimedia data stream. Techniques are disclosed that include receiving a pause request message, wherein the pause request message includes a sequence number of a last processed media frame within a multimedia data stream when a pause command was issued from a user. Techniques disclosed further include pausing a transmission of the multimedia data stream to a client device. Moreover, the techniques disclosed include determining a time-out value based on one or more local resources of a server, wherein the time-out value corresponds to a length of time the media stream can be paused. Furthermore, the techniques disclosed include creating a timestamp of when the transmission of the media stream was paused. Additionally, the techniques disclosed include sending the time-out value and the timestamp to the client device.

    摘要: A method providing communication services to a mobile device is presented. In the method, a number of radio access networks are coupled with a packet data network by way of a number of access nodes. Each of a number of packet data flows between the mobile device and the packet data network are facilitated by way of the one of the radio access networks and one of the access nodes. State information regarding the packet data flows is exchanged between those of the access nodes facilitating at least one of the packet data flows so that each of those nodes possesses the state information for each of the packet data flows. One of the access nodes is then selected for facilitating one of the packet data flows based on the state information.
