    摘要: Methods and computer-readable media are provided to allow for the establishment of an Internet protocol (IP) data session with a dual-stack mobile communications device by authenticating the device. An IP data session is requested, and a home agent sends an indication of this request. A DNS server that will be assigned to a device is identified by querying a database and is identified based on the device's capabilities. The device capabilities are determined by a device-capability identifier that is associated with the user of the device or the device itself, such as a network access identifier. The capabilities may include the device type, applications, programs, or services that the user of the device is subscribed to, or capabilities that are inherent to the phone. Once the DNS server is identified, a server identifier is sent to the home agent, which assigns the DNS server to the device.

    摘要: Computer systems, computer-readable media, and computerized methods for determining a media access (MAC) address that corresponds with a network identifier in a wireless or wired network are provided. A dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) server is employed to allocate a set of socket IP addresses that include a common IPv4 address paired with a selected group of ports, where none of the ports in the selected groups overlap. When assigned to a client device, the socket IP address uniquely identifies the client device within the network. A host device within the network is configured to broadcast an address resolution protocol (ARP) request to other devices within the network, such as the DHCP server, where the ARP request includes a socket IP address associated with recipient(s) of communications from the host device. In response to the ARP request, the appropriate device or DHCP server returns a MAC address of the recipient.

    摘要: A method, system, and computer-readable media are provided for maintaining optimized communication after a mobile device transitions to a new foreign agent during a communication session. When a mobile device moves to and registers with a new foreign agent within a communication session, the mobile device's home agent multicasts a message to all foreign agents within an optimization cluster informing them of the updated registration. Accordingly, the foreign agents within the optimization cluster can proceed to transmit data packets directly to the new foreign agent servicing the mobile device within the communication session.

A computer-implemented method is provided for authenticating a network element to a network. According to this method, an authentication request is transmitted to the network element. In response, the network element provides identifying information for a home agent that previously routed messages to the network element. The identifying information is then used to generate a mobility key. Later, when a network registration request message is received on behalf of the network element, the generated key is used to validate the request.

The method also includes transferring data indicating the wireless communication device, the user profile for the wireless communication device, and the location for the wireless communication device for delivery to the one of the packet payload inspection systems included in the selected one of the packet processing systems. The method also includes receiving the data in the one of the packet payload inspection systems, and in response, inspecting packet payloads associated with the wireless communication device based on the data.

A first IP data session may be established in a first IP version, such as IPv4 or IPv6, and a second IP data session may be established using a different IP version that was used in correlation to the first IP data session. Once the second IP data session is established, a message containing information corresponding to the second IP data session may be communicated to a receiving component, such as an AAA server. A similar message may be sent to the receiving component upon a termination of the second IP data session, such that the messages can be used to determine a value, such as a monetary value, associated with the second IP data session. A report may then be created that includes the determined value.
