摘要: Provided is a 2-pack adhesive composition comprising I) pack I, which comprises a prepolymer composition (PCB), wherein the prepolymer composition (PCB) comprises one or more isocyanate functional prepolymers (FPA), wherein the isocyanate functional prepolymer (FPA) comprises polymerized units of 4,4′ MDI, and wherein the prepolymer composition (PCB) comprises a total amount of all isocyanate monomers of 0 to 0.2% by weight based on the weight of prepolymer composition (PCB). and II) CA pack II, which comprises one or more amine functional polyols. Also provided is a method of making a laminate using such a 2-pack adhesive composition.

摘要: A process comprises (i) providing an isocyanate component A that is a reaction product of an aliphatic polyisocyanate, an aromatic polyisocyanate, an aliphatic polyester polyol, and a polyether polyol; (ii) providing a polyol component B comprising an aliphatic polyester polyol and a polyether polyol; (iii) mixing A and B to form a solventless adhesive (SLA) composition component A and component B each comprises an aliphatic polyester polyol having a viscosity from 800 to 6000 mPa·s at 25° C. and a hydroxyl number from 60 to 180 mg KOH/g; the SLA composition has (a) an initial viscosity at 40° C. from 500 to 1600 mPa·s, (b) an increasing viscosity ratio from 100% to 112% of the initial viscosity after the SLA composition stands at 40° C. for 10 min, and (c) an end viscosity at 40° C. from 120% to 210% of the initial viscosity at 40 min after forming the SLA composition.

摘要: Solvent-based adhesive composition are disclosed, the compositions comprising (A) a polyester-urethane resin, (B) a phosphate ester compound, and (C) an aliphatic isocyanate curing agent. Methods for preparing a solvent-based adhesive composition, the methods comprising providing a polyester-urethane resin, providing a phosphate ester compound, mixing the polyester-urethane resin and phosphate ester compound to form a resin mixture, diluting the resin mixture in a solvent to form a diluted resin mixture having an application solid content of from 25 to 55 weight percent, based on the total weight of the diluted resin mixture, and curing the diluted resin mixture with an aliphatic isocyanate curing agent at a mix ratio (parts by weight resin mixture before dilution:parts by weight aliphatic isocyanate curing agent) of from 100:1 to 100:12. Laminates prepared comprising the solvent-based adhesives and according to the disclosed methods are also disclosed.

摘要: Laminates of polymeric films and solvent-based polyurethane adhesive formulations for preparing them are provided. The adhesive formulations include a hydroxyl-terminated polyester that forms crystalline polyester domains after reaction with an appropriate polyisocyanate, but prior to completion of cure. The result is an adhesive layer that substantially enhances the oxygen barrier properties of the adhesive and, therefore, of the laminate as a whole, while offering desirable convenience of application even at relatively low temperatures. The laminates may also exhibit desirable retention of barrier properties following flex-cracking.

摘要: Methods for forming a laminate structure comprising a two-component solventless polyurethane adhesive compositions are disclosed. The adhesive composition is formulated such that each component is applied independently to corresponding substrates prior to the substrates being brought together to form the laminate structure. The adhesive compositions are highly-reactive and can comprise amine-initiated polyols or catalysts providing for fast curing. The amine-initiated polyols comprise a functionality of from 2 to 12, a hydroxyl number of from 5 to 1,830, and a viscosity at 40 C of from 500 to 20,000 mPa-s. The catalyst can be bismuth catalysts, zinc catalysts, zirconium catalysts, tin catalysts, and aluminum catalysts. Still further, a laminate formed according to the methods is disclosed.
