    摘要: A safety system for a vehicle providing a road departure protection feature comprises a camera, mounted to the vehicle to provide a view of a driving direction of the vehicle, and an electronic control unit connected to the camera. The electronic control unit includes instructions for analyzing the image and comparing the roadway path to the predicted vehicle path. The electronic control unit determines a vehicle roadway departure is occurring when the predicted vehicle path differs from the roadway path by a predetermined threshold, and then determines at least one corrective action to return the vehicle path to the roadway path. The safety system sends instructions to apply at least one corrective action with at least an electronic stability control system.

    摘要: A display system for a vehicle comprises display screens mounted within a passenger compartment of a vehicle. Cameras are mounted on the exterior of the vehicle corresponding to the positions of the display screens. A sensor(s) is directed toward a driver for the vehicle to sense a driver eye position. An ECU for the display system analyzes the driver eye position and determines a line of sight. An image from the camera is displayed on the display screen that corresponds to the driver's line of sight. Consequently, rather than the vehicle obstructing the driver's view the display system provides images to the driver of what would be seen if the vehicle body was not there. Thus, the display system provides virtually transparent portions of the vehicle body which widens the field of view provided to the driver.

    摘要: A disclosed method of maneuvering a vehicle-trailer unit in reverse travel with a backing system includes, among other things, determining that the vehicle-trailer unit is backing up with an electronic control unit for the backing system. A current hitch angle is determined, which represents the relative angle between the vehicle and the trailer with the electronic control unit. A requested hitch angle rate of change versus distance traveled is calculated with the electronic control unit, wherein the requested hitch angle rate of change is based upon a input from a joystick control which provides a requested hitch angle rate of change signal value in proportion to the joystick position. A steering angle is calculated with the electronic control unit based upon the requested hitch angle rate of change, wherein the steering angle will allow movement of the vehicle-trailer unit in the reverse direction to obtain the requested hitch angle rate of change; and a request is sent to a steering system to provide the steering angle.
