摘要: Metal oxide area decontamination apparatus (10) is provided which is designed for rapid, emergency situation decontamination of areas contaminated with potentially harmful or lethal chemical and/or biological warfare agents or other hazardous substances. The apparatus (10) preferably includes a pressurizable metallic container (12) equipped with a valve-type delivery nozzle assembly (16), so that upon a manipulation of the assembly (16), a spray of metal oxide and/or metal hydroxide particles is generated; the particles are selected and sized in order to destroy or chemisorb the contaminating agents. The preferred decontamination agent is MgO aggregated to an average aggregate size of from about 50 nm-10 microns. The particles are mixed with a gaseous or liquid propellant within the container (12) allowing rapid and thorough particle cleanout when the nozzle assembly (16) is actuated.

摘要: A variable displacement reciprocating pump with pumping rate that is adjustable from zero to maximum stroke while the pump is running. Stroke is varied by changing relative position of pairs of eccentric inner and outer cams that drive the pump's plungers. The pump's input drive shaft drives two gear trains: a first gear train that turns the inner cams and a second gear train that turns the outer cams. These cams normally revolve together with no relative motion occurring between them. A rotary actuator is positioned in the first gear train to rotate the inner cams relative to the outer cams and thereby changes the pump's stroke. A computerized system of sensors and control valves allows the pump to be automatically controlled or limited to any one or combination of desired output flow, pressure and horsepower.

摘要: A method for enabling a trained professional to perform a remote inspection of a vehicle uses a trained professional, an assistant, a remote server, and PC devices. The trained professional has a unique account and acts as a moderator for the vehicle inspection. The assistant has a unique account that is used to communicate with the moderator account. The moderator account initiates the vehicle inspection process by transmitting a communication request to the assistant account. Once the assistant account accepts the communication request, the moderator is able to select the desired vehicle inspection process to execute. The moderator account then directs the assistant account to perform the necessary actions to find all damage indicators on the vehicle being inspected. The remote server then compiles the damage indicators and generates a vehicle inspection report.

摘要: A training device is described for perfecting the art of forcibly opening a door in an emergency. The training device has a frame and a door placed in the frame. A dead bolt is mounted in the door and protrudes from the door in a locked position relative to the frame. A vise is attached to the frame. The vise has a movable jaw mounted on a block and a stationary jaw, and means for tightening the movable jaw against the dead bolt. The dead bolt protrudes from the door between the stationary and movable jaw. A method of using the training device causes the door to pivot and the dead bolt to move off of the vise, thus simulating an actual forced opening.

摘要: A gel mixing system that employs a dynamic diffuser for quickly removing the air from the fluid as the fluid exits a traditional gel mixer and employs progressive dilution of the gel in a series of hydration tanks to maximize hydration time without allowing the gel to become so viscous that it is not easily diluted or pumped. High shear agitation of the fluid between the hydration tanks helps to increase the hydration rate. Progressive dilution of the gel increases residence time of the gel in the tanks and results in longer hydration time in the limited tank space available, resulting in continuous production of gel that is almost fully hydrated when it is pumped to the fracturing blender and subsequently to the well bore without the need for an increase in the volume of the hydration tanks.

摘要: Metal oxide-containing dispersions and methods of producing the same are provided. Generally, dispersions according to the invention comprise respective quantities of surfactant, metal oxide, and carrier. Methods according to the invention generally comprise providing a quantity of metal oxide particles of having a desired size suitable for being dispersed in a carrier with the aid of a surfactant. If necessary, the metal oxide particles may be mixed with the carrier and then undergo a pulverization step whereby the average particle size is reduced to the desired level, or the metal oxide particles may be pulverized prior to addition of the carrier. Dispersions made in accordance with the present invention generally exhibit excellent stability in that the metal oxide particles remain suspended in the dispersion for at least about one month.

摘要: A method for determining coverage gaps within a geographical area served by a wireless communication network includes: (a) receiving a location report from each of a plurality of mobile units; (b) storing all location reports received from the mobile units in a database; and (c) searching the database for a position within the geographical area at which an acceptable quality wireless signal has not been received. The location report may include a measured signal quality metric of the wireless link, which may be the signal strength of the wireless link, a bit error rate of the wireless link, or both. Location reports may be displayed on a map to show coverage quality and gaps. Statistical technique and quantitative techniques can be applied on the signal quality metrics reported.
