    摘要: A trigger activated arm may use a piston moving within a cylinder to dampen gun bolt speed. In some embodiments, gun bolt motion increases pressure within the cylinder bore to dampen rearward gun bolt speed. The pressure may be high enough to unseat the cylinder creating a vent that cylinder fluid exits. In other embodiments, gun bolt motion decreases pressure within the cylinder bore to dampen forward gun bolt speed.

    摘要: A cell culture controlling device is able to precisely control a cell culture's temperature and physical position. It contains a thermoelectric unit, a heat transfer medium, a controller, a pitch actuation unit, a medium temperature sensor, an ambient temperature sensor, a position sensor, a user interface, a powder supply and an alarm. The cell culture controlling device is able to maintain a cell culture temperature within a range from −10° C. to 70° C. with an increment of 1° C. and maintain the physical position of a cell culture container within a range from 0° to 45° with an increment of 1°. In this device, the thermoelectric unit is a Peltier solid state cooler, which allows an easy and accurate temperature control.

    摘要: A method for reducing the adherence of a High Internal Phase Emulsion (HIPE) to belt surfaces in a multi-tiered curing oven is provided. The method comprises forming a High Internal Phase Emulsion from an oil phase comprising monomer, cross-linking agent, emulsifier, an aqueous phase and photoinitiator; depositing the High Internal Phase Emulsion on an extrusion belt; exposing the High Internal Phase Emulsion to an Ultraviolet light source to partially polymerize the top surface of the High Internal Phase Emulsion; moving the High Internal Phase Emulsion to a multi-tiered curing oven such that the partially polymerized top surface of the High Internal Phase Emulsion is contacted with a curing oven belt in the multi-tiered curing oven; and polymerizing the monomer component in the oil phase of the High Internal Phase Emulsion at a temperature of from about 20° C. to about 150° C. for a time sufficient to from a High Internal Phase Emulsion foam.

    摘要: An apparatus is provided for refining materials such as a tobacco material. The apparatus includes a disc assembly rotatably coupled to a drive arrangement. The disc assembly includes a disc body having first and second lateral surfaces each having a refining arrangement disposed thereon. First and second stationary refining arrangements are positioned in opposing relationship to the first and second lateral surfaces so as to form first and second refining zones. The disc assembly further includes first and second gear members. The first gear member is engaged with the drive arrangement, and the second gear member is engaged with the disc body. The first and second gear members are arranged to engage each other such that interaction therebetween rotatingly drives the disc body. The first and second gear members are configured to resist wear associated with interaction therebetween.
