    Abstract: A valve assembly for a medical device that includes a body having an inlet that is in fluid communication with a source of fluid, and an outlet that is in fluid communication with a delivery conduit of the medical device. The valve assembly includes a shuttle configured to move within the body between a first and second position to control delivery of fluid from the inlet to the outlet. In the first position, the shuttle is configured to maintain the fluid at a first pressure within the body and seal the outlet from the inlet, such that the delivery conduit is isolated from the fluid at the first pressure. In the second position, the shuttle is configured to maintain the fluid at a second pressure within the body and fluidly couple the outlet to the inlet, such that the delivery conduit receives the fluid at the second pressure.

    Abstract: A steering system for a medical device may include a first drive member having a central longitudinal axis; a central shaft extending through the first drive member; a control knob coupled to the first drive member; a braking knob coupled to the central shaft and including a first protrusion; and a brake shoe member coupled to the central shaft between the control knob and the braking knob. The first protrusion may be positioned within a first channel of the brake shoe member; the first protrusion may be configured to engage the brake shoe member to move a first arm of the brake shoe member radially outward towards a wall of the control knob when the braking knob is rotated in a first direction; and the first arm may be configured to move away from the wall when the braking knob is rotated in a second direction.

    Abstract: A medical device that includes a first body including a first actuation member including a first connector and a second actuation member. The medical device includes a second body for attachment to, and detachment from, the first body. The second body including an actuation wire, a second connector at a proximal end of the actuation wire, and a valve having one or more channels for receiving a material. Attachment of the first body with the second body results in the first connector engaging the second connector, such that movement of the first actuation member causes a corresponding movement of the actuation wire. Moving the second actuation member into the second body to interact with the valve is configured to selectively direct the material through the one or more channels.

    Abstract: A tissue closure device includes a needle and a suture extending therefrom, a proximal head including a proximal slot and a proximal locking mechanism for releasably engaging a first end of the needle in the proximal slot in a first configuration, and a distal head movably coupled to the proximal head so that the proximal and distal heads are movable relative to one another between an open configuration, in which a target tissue is received therebetween, and a closed configuration, in which the target tissue gripped therebetween.     Abstract: Various apparatuses to attach a first medical device to a second medical device are described that allow the physician to grasp only a single device while the other device remains securely attached to the one being grasped.
