Abstract:
A method and system for preparing a mixture of Guerbet alcohols where one or more primary alcohols of the formula RCH2CH2OH are provided, with R representing hydrogen or a straight or branched chain alkyl group of 1 to 14 carbon atoms. A base and a catalyst are provided, which are mixed with the primary alcohol(s). The resulting mixture is heated to a process temperature above the boiling point of water under reaction conditions and the water resulting from the thus obtained condensation and dehydration of the primary alcohols is then removed constantly. When the Guerbet reaction has reached a certain stage, at least part of the reaction mixture is removed, followed by a separation of the desired Guerbet alcohols from the removed part of the reaction mixture. The other alcohols are then returned to the reaction mixture for obtaining a higher amount of the desired Guerbet alcohols.

a) a mixture of polyoxymethylene dialkyl ethers (POM) having a restricted specific molecular distribution b) at least one biocidal agent c) at least one pro-penetrating agent d) at least one dye e) optionally, another additive and water as diluent,
It also relates to a non-therapeutic method of preserving and/or embalming a dead human or animal body using the composition, such as the use of this composition for anatomopathological purposes.
Abstract:
The invention relates to biosourced vinylidene difluoride. The invention also relates to methods for preparation of biosourced vinylidene difluoride from various renewable raw materials. The invention also relates to homopolymers of vinylidene difluoride obtained from polymerization of said monomer, and also copolymers obtained by copolymerization of said monomer with one or several compatible comonomers. Finally, the invention relates to the use of said homopolymers or copolymers in applications, such as chemical engineering or electronics, in particular mass-market electronic devices.
Abstract:
A method of synthesising an amino acid from an unsaturated fatty compound I that includes at least the following steps: cross-metathesis with a short unsaturated compound II, one of compounds I or II comprising a nitrile function and the other of these compounds II or I an ester function, so as to obtain and recover at least one monounsaturated nitrile ester NEU; hydrolysis of the NEU in unsaturated acid nitrile NAU; hydrogenation of the NAU to saturated amino acid AA; and then purification of the AA, if applicable, in particular by crystallisation. Also, a polymer obtained by polymerisation using the amino acid synthesised according to the method.
Abstract:
A chemical reactor including: a plurality of heat exchange plates which between them define reaction compartments, in which reactor each heat exchange plate includes two walls between them defining at least one heat exchange space, the respective walls being fixed together by joining regions, and the reactor also comprises at least one injection device for injecting substance into the reaction compartments, said substance-injection device passing through the heat-exchange plates in respective joining regions thereof. Also, a chemical reaction process that can be carried out in this reactor.

Abstract:
A process for the synthesis of an unsaturated product by cross metathesis between a first unsaturated compound having at least 8 carbon atoms and a second unsaturated compound having less than 8 carbon atoms, the first unsaturated compound being capable of producing an unsaturated coproduct comprising more than 14 carbon atoms, by homometathesis, said process including at least one production phase which includes: feeding a reactor with the first unsaturated compound; feeding the reactor with the second unsaturated compound; feeding the reactor with at least a first metathesis catalysts, then feeding the reactor with at least a second metathesis catalyst; withdrawing a product stream arising from the reactor; the turnover number of the first catalyst being higher than the turnover number of the second catalyst so as to achieve the same target degree of conversion of the first unsaturated compound.
Abstract:
A method for extraction from Lesquerella seeds having an acid value of less than 6 mg KOH/g, said method including the following steps: a seed-processing step i) that includes a single operation of flattening the seeds and at least one operation of drying the seeds; and a step ii) of placing the processed seeds into contact with a mixture of light anhydrous alcohol and co-solvent under temperature and time conditions that are sufficient for extracting a raw oil including phospholipids and gums, as well as obtaining a de-oiled cake.
