Abstract: A method for unicast communication over sidelink includes transmitting a direct communication request message from a source user equipment (UE) to one or more destination UEs. A direct communication response is received at the source UE from at least one of the one or more destination UEs, with the response including context information and a destination sidelink ID for the at least one UE. The context information of the at least one UE is stored in association with an ID pair comprising the destination sidelink ID and a source sidelink ID.

Abstract: Techniques to configure a user equipment (UE) for radio link failure (RLF) handling during a multi-connectivity handover with a source base station (SBS) and a target base station (TBS) include encoding a measurement report for transmission to the SBS via a first communication link. The measurement report is triggered based on a measurement event configured by the SBS. RRC signaling is received from the SBS, the RRC signaling including a handover command in response to the measurement report. The handover command includes an indication for multi-connectivity support by the SBS and the TBS during the handover. A random access channel (RACH) procedure with the TBS is performed using a second communication link between the UE and the TBS. Radio link monitoring (RLM) on the first communication link and the second communication link is performed during the handover.

Abstract: A network device (e.g., a user equipment (UE), a new radio NB (gNB), or other network component) can process or generate a one-step paging reception or a two-step paging reception based on being in a sub-state of an idle mode. A UE can enter into an idle state to enable a decreased power consumption of battery, and further reduce power consumption by only monitoring a PDCCH in response to operating in a camped on any cell state, and eliminate processing a paging message when in the camped on any cell state.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and storage media for reserving radio resources for sidelink (SL) vehicle-to-everything (V2X) transmissions are described. In embodiments, a user equipment may select to create an SL grant when a configuration indicates to transmit SL transmissions based on sensing using indicated resources. And when a number of consecutive unused transmission opportunities on the indicated resources is equal to a configured value, the UE may release all currently reserved radio resources, set a resource reservation interval, and select a set of resources spaced by the resource reservation interval as reserved resources for transmission of the one or more sidelink transmissions. The UE may be configured for carrier aggregation using a primary component carrier (CC) and a secondary CC. The UE may attempt to detect a sidelink synchronization signal (SLSS) from another UE on the primary CC. The UE may, if the SLSS from the other UE is detected: determine, based on the detected SLSS, a common time synchronization for the primary CC and the secondary CC for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) sidelink transmissions in accordance with the carrier aggregation. The UE may, if the SLSS from the other UE is not detected: transmit an SLSS to enable determination of the common time synchronization for the primary CC and the secondary CC by the other UE. The SLSS may be transmitted on the primary CC.

Abstract: Apparatuses of wireless communication devices are disclosed. An apparatus of a user equipment includes one or more processors configured to start a first timer responsive to detection of a Radio Link (RL) failure, start a second timer and trigger a beam recovery procedure one or more times responsive to expiry of the first timer if RL recovery is not detected, and start a third timer and attempt to find a suitable cell for Radio Resource Control (RRC) connection reestablishment responsive to one or more expiries of the second timer if RL recovery fails. The one or more processors are also configured to go to an RRC idle or inactive state responsive to expiry of the third timer if a suitable cell for RRC connection reestablishment is not found.
