A multizone air-conditioning system for a motor vehicle includes a single air-conditioning unit and an air distribution conduit. The air distribution conduit has multiple conduit portions with outlets respectively open to horizontally spaced apart zones of the passenger compartment. Each outlet has a switching damper for diverting a variable amount of conditioned airflow in response to a feedback control signal to vertically spaced apart zones of the compartment to automatically operate the system in one of different air-conditioned modes. The control signal is derived from temperature measurement data and a reference setting establised with respect to each horizontally spaced apart zone. The air-conditioning unit includes air mixing dampers respectively located in the conduit portions and a heating radiator having half portions thereof located respectively downstream of the mixing dampers. A correction signal is obtained from the result of comparison between the settings of air mixing dampers to control the setting of each switching damper to minimize the effect of thermal interferences which might exist between the conduit portions.

When the HDMI(R) sink can receive the sub-signal, the HDMI(R) source adds a sub-signal to pixel data of a main image composed of pixel data whose number of bits is smaller than that of transmission pixel data transmitted by a transmitter, thereby constructing transmission pixel data. This data is transmitted by the transmitter through TMDS channels #0 to #2. Furthermore, the HDMI(R) source transmits a general control packet containing sub-signal information indicating whether or not the sub-signal is contained in the transmission pixel data in the control period of a vertical blanking period. The present invention can be applied to, for example, HDMI(R).

A source device (disc player 210) receives E-EDID from a sink device (television receiver 250) via DDC of an HDMI cable 350. This E-EDID contains information on 3D image data transmission modes that can be supported by the sink device. On the basis of the information on 3D image data transmission modes from the sink device, the source device selects a predetermined transmission mode from among the 3D image data transmission modes that can be supported by the sink device. The sink device transmits 3D image data in the selected transmission mode to the sink device. For the convenience of processing in the sink device, the source device transmits information on the transmission mode for the 3D image data transmitted, to the sink device by using an AVI InfoFrame packet or the like. The sink device processes the 3D image data received from the source device in accordance with its transmission mode, thereby obtaining left eye and right eye image data.
