摘要: A hardcoat composition includes one or more multifunctional (meth)acrylate monomers, and a nanoparticle mixture dispersed within the one or more multifunctional (meth)acrylate monomers. The nanoparticle mixture includes a first population of reactive nanoparticles. The first population of reactive nanoparticles have an average particle diameter in a range from 5 nm to 60 nm, and a second population of non-reactive nanoparticles. The second population of non-reactive nanoparticles have an average particle diameter in a range from 5 nm to 60 mn.

摘要: Processing tapes for use in preparing optical articles include a thermally stable tape backing and a low tack adhesive layer at least partially coated on tape backing. The low tack adhesive layer includes a crosslinked, polyester-containing (meth)acrylate-based polymer that is essentially free of volatile components, is unchanged after heat aging of 150 C for 1 hour under a pressure of 4.31 kiloPascals, and is able to removably adhere to the anti-reflective, nanostructured surface coating of an optical construction.

The transparent aliphatic cross-linked polyurethane layer has a glass transition temperature in a range from 11 to 27 degrees Celsius and a Tan Delta peak value in a range from 0.5 to 2.5. The display film has a haze value of 1% or less.

摘要: Presently described are hardcoat compositions comprising at least one first (meth)acrylate monomer comprising at least three (meth)acrylate groups and C2-C4 alkoxy repeat units wherein the monomer has a molecular weight per (meth)acrylate group ranging from about 220 to 375 g/mole and at least one second (meth)acrylate monomer comprising at least three (meth)acrylate groups. In one embodiment, the hardcoat composition further comprises and at least 50 wt-% solids of silica nanoparticles. Also described are articles, such as protective films, displays, and touch screens comprising such cured hardcoat compositions.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a thermally conductive article including a pad having first and second opposed major surfaces and a thickness therebetween. The thickness is formed of entangled thermally conductive fibers and at least a portion of the entangled thermally conductive fibers have at least one terminal end at the first opposed major surface, the opposed second major surface, or both. The pad is at least partially impregnated with a polymer. Another thermally conductive article is provided including a) a pad having first and second opposed major surfaces and a thickness therebetween; b) a first thermally conductive skin layer; and c) a second thermally conductive skin layer. The thickness of the pad is formed of aligned thermally conductive fibers, and at least a portion of the thermally conductive fibers have a terminal end at the first opposed major surface and the opposed second major surface. The first and second thermally conductive skin layers each include a polymeric matrix at least partially embedded in the terminal end of at least a portion of the thermally conductive fibers at the first and second major surfaces of the pad, respectively. Methods of making the thermally conductive articles are also provided.

摘要: Optical films for redirecting light are described, and optical systems, such as display systems, incorporating such optical films are described. The optical film may include a first structured surface including a plurality of prismatic structures, and a second structured surface opposing the first structured surface and including a plurality of microstructures. An effective transmission of the optical film is not more than 1% less than a film with a comparable construction except for a smooth, non-structured second surface.

摘要: This application describes a back-lit transmissive display including a transmissive display and a variable index light extraction layer optically coupled to a lightguide. The variable index light extraction layer has first regions of nanovoided polymeric material and second regions of the nanovoided polymeric material and an additional material. The first and second regions are disposed such that for light being transported at a supercritical angle in the lightguide, the variable index light extraction layer selectively extracts the light in a predetermined way based on the geometric arrangement of the first and second regions. The transmissive display may be a transmissive display panel or a polymeric film such as a graphic.

The optical film also includes a second major surface that is opposite to the first major surface and includes a plurality of second microstructures. The second major surface has an optical haze that is not greater than about 3% and an optical clarity that is not greater than about 85%.
