Abstract: A display film includes a transparent polymeric substrate layer and a transparent aliphatic cross-linked polyurethane layer disposed on the transparent polymeric substrate layer. The transparent aliphatic cross-linked polyurethane layer has a glass transition temperature in a range from 11 to 27 degrees Celsius and a Tan Delta peak value in a range from 0.5 to 2.5. The display film has a haze value of 1% or less.

Abstract: The disclosed aliphatic thermoplastic polyurethane composition is well suited for use in thin, flexible light directing articles to impart flexibility, toughness, or protection to the light directing articles that contain optically active elements. The disclosed aliphatic thermoplastic polyurethanes have improved thermostability at higher temperatures. Specifically, the disclosed aliphatic thermoplastic polyurethanes have a cross-over temperature greater than 110° C. In one embodiment, the cross-over temperature is greater than 130° C. In one embodiment, the cross-over temperature is less than 170° C. and a Tg greater than 35 C and less than 70 C.

Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed relate to a surfacing film. The surfacing film includes a base layer. The base layer includes a thermoplastic polyurethane film comprising a reaction product of a reaction mixture of a diisocyanate, a polyester polyol having a melting temperature of at least about 30° C.; and a diol chain extender. There are many reasons to use the surfacing film including easier and more cost effective manufacturing of the surfacing film by directly extruding the base layer by mixing the reaction mixture in an extruder. Another reason to use the surfacing film is that the film has improved resistance to discoloration. Another reason to use the film is that the film shows good toughness.

Abstract: A display film includes a transparent glass layer having a thickness of 250 micrometers or less, or in a range from 25 to 100 micrometers. A transparent energy dissipation layer is fixed to the transparent glass layer. The transparent energy dissipation layer has a glass transition temperature of 27 degrees Celsius or less, a Tan Delta peak value of 0.5 or greater, or from 1 to 2 and a Young's Modulus (E′) greater than 0.9 MPa over a temperature range of −40 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius. In a preferred embodiment, the transparent energy dissipation layer comprises a cross-linked polyurethane layer or a cross-linked polyurethane acrylate layer.

Abstract: Described herein is a multilayered article and methods of making and using such articles. The multilayered article comprises: · (a) a microsphere layer comprising a plurality of microspheres (11) disposed in a monolayer; · (b) a bead bonding layer (12) comprising a first major surface and a second opposing major surface wherein the plurality of microspheres is at least partially embedded in the first major surface of the bead bonding layer, and wherein the bead bonding layer comprises a thermoset polyurethane, and wherein the thermoset polyurethane is derived from one or more liquid polyols; and · (c) an elastomeric layer (14) disposed on the second opposing major surface of the bead bonding layer.
