    摘要: In a commutator motor, a brush holding device includes a plurality of brush holders and a substantially annular holder plate. Each of the brush holders includes a holder frame, which receives a pair of brush and spring, and a bottom plate having two opposite side portions. The holder plate is disposed around a commutator and has a major surface on which a plurality of pairs of guide walls are formed; each pair of the guide walls defines a pair of grooves. The side portions of the bottom plate of each of the brush holders are respectively fit in a corresponding pair of the grooves defined by the guide walls. Each of the brush holders has a radially outer end that abuts an inner surface of a side wall of an end frame, whereby radially outward movement of each of the brush holders is restricted by the end frame.

    摘要: An electromagnetic switch has a shaft and a movable contact member slidably supported by the shaft. The shaft is moved with a plunger when an electromagnet is formed of an electromagnetic coil receiving an electric current and attracts the plunger. The movable contact member is moved with the plunger and connects fixed contact members with each other to turn on the switch. The shaft has a shaft body and a projection projected from the shaft body. The movable contact member has a hole. The projection is inserted into the hole to pass through the hole, and the movable contact member is disposed on the shaft body. Then, the movable contact member is rotated so as to engage the projection with the movable contact member. Therefore, the projection prevents the movable contact member from coming out of the shaft.

    摘要: In a commutator motor, a brush holding device includes a plurality of brush holders and a substantially annular holder plate.     摘要: In a starter, an electromagnetic switch is mounted to a seating. A lead wire of an exciting coil is led to an outside of a switch case by a coil-leading portion and is connected to a male terminal, which is fixed to the coil-leading portion by welding. The coil-leading portion is integrally provided with an end plate portion of a bobbin around which the exciting coil is wound. The coil-leading portion passes through and projects from a bottom surface of the switch case to the outside. A metal member, in a form of a plate, is insert-molded in the seating. A 50 terminal is provided on an end of the metal member and a female terminal is provided on an opposite end of the metal member. When the electromagnetic switch is mounted to a predetermined position of the seating, the female terminal engages with the male terminal.

    摘要: A pinion gear of a starter motor is driven into engagement with a ring gear of an internal combustion engine by a driving lever having a leaf spring upon energization of an electromagnetic actuator. The leaf spring of the driving lever is coupled to a connecting member of a plunger of the electromagnetic actuator. The connecting member includes a surface engaging with an engaging portion formed at one end of the leaf spring. A center portion of the engaging surface is projected toward the leaf spring, so that the engaging portion of the leaf spring always contacts the engaging surface at the center of the engaging surface, even if the leaf spring is slantedly coupled with the connecting member.

    摘要: A starter which may employed in starting an engine is provided. The starter includes an electromagnetic actuator and a pinion carrier. The pinion carrier includes a pinion and a holder. The holder retains a shift lever and transmits movement of the shift lever, as achieved by a magnetic attraction produced by the electromagnetic actuator, to the pinion, thereby shifting the pinion into engagement with a ring gear joined to, for example, an engine. The holder is made of material smaller in specific gravity than the pinion. Specifically, the holder is lower in mass or weight than the pinion, thereby permitting the magnetic attraction required to shift the pinion carrier through the shift lever to be decreased. This permits the electromagnetic actuator to be decreased in size.

    摘要: A starter includes a motor and an electromagnetic switch disposed close to and radially outward of the motor. The switch includes a contacts cover, a terminal bolt, and a conductive metal member. The contacts cover is cup-shaped. The terminal bolt is secured in the contacts cover so as to extend in the axial direction of the motor through an end wall of the contacts cover. The metal member has a first and a second end portion. The first end portion is inserted in the contacts cover through a side wall of the contacts cover. The second end portion is located outside the contacts cover and electrically connected to the motor. The switch further includes a movable contact, a first fixed contact that is electrically connected to a power source via the terminal bolt, and a second fixed contact made up of the first end portion of the metal member.
