Abstract:
An ultrasonic lithotripter comprising a first transmission probe which has a hollow portion in the form of a through hole and transmits ultrasonic vibration and a superfine second transmission probe which can be passed through the hollow portion of the first transmission probe. An object of manipulation is held by means of the second transmission probe as it is manipulated by means of the first transmission probe.
Abstract:
A treatment electrode of a resectoscope apparatus is substantially semicircular-shaped. A length a of a first segment and a length b of a second segment satisfy a relationship of (a>2·b). The first segment is in parallel with the plane on which a parallel lead member exists and has the maximum width of the treatment electrode. The second segment is vertical to the first segment and has the maximum distance between an intersection to the first segment and an intersection to the treatment electrode.
Abstract:
When a user steps on a footswitch, high-frequency output power is delivered. A control circuit included in a diathermic power supply calculates the impedance ZSn that is offered by a living tissue immediately after delivery of high-frequency output power is started during the n-th delivery period. The control circuit also calculates the impedance ZEn that is offered thereby immediately before delivery of high-frequency output power is discontinued with elapse of predetermined time. The control circuit then discontinues delivery of high-frequency output power for the predetermined time, and calculates a difference &Dgr;Zn between the impedances. When the difference meets a predetermined condition that implies coagulation or when the number of times of delivery reaches a predetermined value, the control circuit discontinues delivery of high-frequency output power.
Abstract:
A medical resecting device is disclosed in which, a living organism tissue is resected with ultrasonic vibrations while the corresponding body cavity is observed with an optical observation pipe. The resecting device includes an ultrasonic vibrator for generating ultrasonic vibrations, a horn connected to the vibrator, a probe connected to the front portion of the horn to transmit the ultrasonic vibrations generated by the vibrator, the probe being provided with a rod-like shaft and a distal end portion with a resecting blade, a power source unit for supplying a drive voltage to the vibrator, and an optical observation pipe having a guide hole in which the shaft of the probe is inserted.
Abstract:
A therapeutical device using ultrasonic vibration includes an ultrasonic vibration generator for generating ultrasonic vibration in the axial direction of the device and in a direction different from the axial direction of the device, an amplifier connected to the ultrasonic vibration generator for amplifying the ultrasonic vibration generated, and a vibration transmitting connected to the amplifier member for transmitting the ultrasonic vibration.
Abstract:
This unit is for stopping hemorrhage by supplying a current for heating to a semi-conductive thermal element of small heat capacity to insure good heat response which is incorporated in the distal extremity of a slender probe, and possesses a means to recognize whether, or not, voltage fall between the both ends of the thermal element is within the permissible range in order to make it possible to detect qualitative deterioration of thermal element.
Abstract:
A lesion identification system for surgical operations has a light marker adapted for placement in the vicinity of a lesion inside an organ of an organism, and a location-identifying device detecting a light emitted from the light marker at an outside of the organ for identifying a location of the lesion. The marker includes a light emitter and an engagement member associated with the emitter to be engageable with a wall of the organ. The engagement member includes a clip. The light emitter emits light with a wavelength in a near-infrared range. The device includes an endoscope comprising an inserter section having an image pickup element picking up a reflected light, involving the light from the light marker, at an outside of the organ, and an image pickup unit allowing the reflected light, picked by the image pickup element, to be generated as an image for display on a monitor.

Abstract:
A therapeutic system comprising a therapeutic applicator for treating living tissues and an observation unit for determining the position of the applicator. The therapeutic energy applied from the applicator to the living tissues is controlled in accordance with data representing the position of the applicator, determined by the observation unit. It is therefore easy to operate the system even if the applicator and the observation unit (e.g., an MRI apparatus) are used at the same time. The image of the living tissues remains clear during the use of the therapeutic applicator.
Abstract:
An electric operation apparatus includes a high-frequency generating device which generates high-frequency current for treating the body anatomy, an active electrode which supplies to the body anatomy, the high-frequency current generated by the high-frequency generating device, a solution supply device which supplies a conductive solution around the active electrode, a return electrode which returns, via the conductive solution supplied by the solution supply device, the high-frequency current supplied to the body anatomy from the active electrode in the conductive solution, a sensor which detects a conductive state of the high-frequency current that flows between the active electrode and the return electrode, and a control device which determines a state of bubbles generated around the active electrode and which changes an operation mode, based on the conductive state of the high-frequency current detected by the sensor.
