A method for making anode foil plates for use with layered electrolytic capacitors and capacitors made with such plates. A high purity aluminum foil is provided for generation of anode foil plates. Sheets of the foil are highly etched to provide a very high surface area. Following the etch process, the foil is partially cut or punched into plates from the etched sheets in the general shape of the finished capacitor housing with a portion remaining connected to the supporting foil. The supporting foil with the partially punched-out etched plates are subjected to a forming process by applying a voltage to the plates in the presence of an electrolyte to provide formed anode foil plates with edges which do not have to be reformed during capacitor aging and which do not have any particulates at cut edges. The formed anode plates are layered with cathode plates and separators in a capacitor housing with an electrolyte to provide a finished capacitor.

A system and method for adding a gateway to a first device having a first network connector. An embedded gateway module includes a processor, a memory connected to the processor and first and second network interfaces, wherein the first network connection uses a first network protocol and the second network connection uses a second network protocol. The embedded gateway module is installed in the first device, wherein installing includes sharing the first device's first network connector. The gateway then connects the gateway through the first network to a device manager application at a remote location, connects the gateway module to the second network, installs gateway program data for receiving data from a second device over the second network and storing the received data as channels of data and installs presentation program data for presenting the channel data to applications running on the cloud.

The unknown node receives the first signal and sends a second signal to at least the second reference node in phase with the first signal. The first signal and the second signal are received in the second reference node and the phase of the received signals is compared to determine the position of the unknown node based on the phase difference between the received first and second signals.

The present invention is an RF cancellation circuit located between the output of a power amplifier and downstream circuitry, such as a transmitting antenna. The RF cancellation circuit cancels reflections resulting from antenna impedance mismatches, thereby presenting a constant load impedance to the output of the power amplifier. The RF cancellation circuit extracts a portion of the reflected signal, phase-shifts by 180 degrees and amplifies the extracted portion of the reflected signal to create a cancellation signal, and then cancels the balance of the reflected signal by adding in the cancellation signal. Directional circuitry is used to process the reflected signals without interfering with normal transmitted signals. Presenting a constant load impedance to the output of the power amplifier helps facilitate compliance with total radiated power into load mismatch specifications.

A capacitor for an implantable cardiac defibrillator with a housing defining a chamber. A plurality of flat, stacked, charge storing layers reside within the chamber. Each of the layers includes at least a first and a second electrically conductive sheets separated by a sheet in between. The first sheet is electrically connected to the housing, and the second sheet is electrically isolated from the housing. The layers each have a periphery having at least one alignment element, with the second sheet extending to the periphery along at least a portion of the alignment element, such that the layers may be engaged at the alignment element to register the layers during assembly.
