摘要: There is disclosed a syntheitc method of mixing a soluble poly(1,4-phenylenvinylene)(PPV) derivative in which two silyl groups are substituted, and an electroluminescent device using the same. In the poly2,5-bis(dimethyloctylsilyl)-1,4-phenylenvinylene! (BDMOS-PPV) according to the present invention, the final polymer is easily dissolved in common organic solvents and shows a measured absolute PL quantum efficiency of 60% much higher than that of the conventional PPV having 25%, thus making it possible to be applied as material of an electroluminnescent device. Also, it provides an outstanding advantage that it can be applied to a flexible light-emitting device.

摘要: A preparation method of polymerid rod using free radical bulk polymerization with temperature gradient, comprising the steps of, charging a mixture of monomer which can be subjected to a radical polymerization, polymerization initiator and cross linking agent into a reaction container of tube shape having a constant inner diameter and performing radical polymerization of the monomer, by passing the said reaction container in a constant dipping speed through a zone downwardly from upper part to lower part of the said zone, wherein the upper part of the zone is maintained at a relatively low temperature (TL) and the lower part of the zone is maintained at a relatively high temperature (TH) than that of the said upper part so that the medium part located between the upper part and lower part has a temperature gradient of (TH-TL)/L (wherein, L is defined as a vertical distance of the temperature-gradient zone). By the present method, it is possible to decrease a transmission loss of the obtained polymeric rod due to scattering. The obtained polymeric rod by the present method having nearly perfect outer shape can be used in preparing a polymeric gradient-index rod lens which is used as an optical component.

摘要: The present invention relates to a manufacturing method of a polymer GRIN lens which is used for focusing light in connections for example between two or more optical fibers and between an optical fiber and a light source in the optical communication field. The manufacturing method of a GRIN lens according to the present invention utilizes a characteristic of polystyrene that its refractive-index is decreased by sulfonation. The method includes polymerizing a sphere or rod made of a directional monomer that is capable of sulfonating like a styrene, together with a cross-linking agent, and a polymerization initiator; swelling the polymerized cross-linked polymer by using a predetermined solvent; and sulfonating the swollen cross-linked polymer using a sulfuric acid. Accordingly, the present method can be easily controlled to obtain the desired refractive-index distribution since the refractive-index distribution is determined by the diffusion of the sulfuric acid as a sulfonation.

摘要: A method for detecting a target biological material using DNA barcodes is provided. The method is for detecting a target biological material (e.g., DNA) by using DNA barcodes by which a trace amount of target biological material can be detected in a rapid and economic manner without performing polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The method is characterized by the use of magnetic particles and polymer particles coated with DNA barcodes to sense a trace amount of a biological material (e.g., DNA).

摘要: A method for manufacturing an organic EL display including an organic EL elements and an organic field effect transistors being integrated on a same substrate is disclosed. A semitransparent electrode layer of the organic EL element and a gate electrode of the organic transistor are formed on a same transparent plastic substrate. An organic gate insulating layer is deposited on the gate electrode and an organic semiconductor layer is formed on the organic gate insulating layer. A source and drain electrodes is formed on the organic semiconductor layer. An organic EL layer is formed on the semitransparent electrode layer and a part of the drain electrode. The organic semiconductor layer can be made of a charge transfer complex or a thiophene derivative polymer. The resultant EL device is capable of mechanically bent, and then is readily adaptable for use in flexible displays.
