摘要:
Mental diseases include a heterogenous array of diseases that affect brain function. Evidence suggests that some of more serious conditions that lead to suicide may have some genetic and epigenetic determinants. Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNPs) have been identified that correlate with a variety of mental conditions and diseases. In this patent application we describe a method by which subjects with life threatening mental health disease can be identified using Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) analysis and such associated SNPs is corrected using in vivo genome editing technologies.

The present invention provides methods of treating one or more complications of premature birth suffered by premature infants, comprising administering to the premature infant umbilical cord blood stem cells and, optionally, placental stem cells. The present invention also provides methods of combining and administering, and compositions comprising, umbilical cord blood stem cells, particularly autologous cord blood cells, and placental stem cells for the treatment of premature infants.
摘要:
The present invention relates to cell adhesion promoting (“CAP”) peptide combinations that promote cell attachment or cell adhesion to culture surfaces that are otherwise cell adhesion resistant “CAR”. The invention provides combination of peptides that, when covalently coupled to a CAR layer such as hyaluronic acid that has been created on a polystyrene surface, promote cell attachment, growth differentiation, and execution of other desired cellular functions in culture.

Provided herein are placental perfusate, placental perfusate cells, and placenta-derived intermediate natural killer cells, and combinations thereof. Also provided herein are compositions comprising the same, and methods of using placental perfusate, placental perfusate cells, and placenta-derived intermediate natural killer cells, and combinations thereof, to suppress the growth or proliferation of tumor cells, cancer cells, and the like, and to treat individuals having tumor cells.

摘要:
Provided herein are methods of suppressing tumor cell proliferation, of treating individuals having cancer or a viral infection, comprising contacting the tumor cells, or administering to the individual, placental perfusate, placental perfusate cells, or natural killer cells, e.g., placenta-derived intermediate natural killer cells, with an immunomodulatory compound or thalidomide.
摘要:
Provided herein are osteogenic placental adherent cells (OPACs), methods of using OPACs and OPAC populations, and methods of culturing, proliferating, expanding, or differentiating the OPACs. Further provided herein are methods of using the OPACs to formulate implantable or injectable compositions suitable for administration to a subject. Still further provided herein are provides methods for treating bone defects with OPACs and compositions comprising OPACs. Also provided herein are methods of using OPACs in the treatment and management of multiple myeloma, e.g., reducing the progression of, halting the progression of, or improving, one or more symptoms of multiple myeloma in an individual having multiple myeloma, comprising administering a plurality of OPACs to the individual.
摘要:
A high throughput method is provided for identifying agents capable of producing a desired biological response in whole cells. The method includes the steps of providing receptacles having a culture surface; placing different mixtures of single agents into selective ones of the receptacles according to a statistical design; and immobilizing the mixtures of single agents to the culture surface. The method further includes contacting the immobilized agents with the whole cells; and acquiring data which is indicative of a desired biological response in the contacted cells. The method also includes using statistical modeling of the acquired data to determine which mixtures of single agents and/or which single agents in these mixtures are effective in producing the desired biological response in the contacted cells.
摘要:
A method and composition are provided for inducing or enhancing chondrogenesis in vivo or in vitro. The method is performed by exposing the cells in vitro or in vivo to an extracellular matrix comprising of type I collagen, type II collagen or a mixture of type I collagen or type II collagen and hyaluronate and further containing BMP-4 or a combination of BMP-4 and GDF-5.

A composition is provided for treating diseased, injured or diseased cartilage comprising hyaluronic acid and a growth factor. The composition has a viscosity and biodegradability sufficient to persist at the site for a period of time sufficient to alleviate the symptoms of the disease, injury or abnormality. Preferably hyaluronic acid is used in a composition range of 0.01-4% by weight and the preferred growth factor is IGF-I, present in a concentration range of about 10−6 to 100 mg/ml.
