Abstract:
Apparatus and methods are provided for balancing a load across access devices in a wireless network. A method comprises receiving an association request at a first access device of a plurality of access devices, and determining, in response to the association request, if the first access device is the least-loaded access device among the plurality of access devices. The method further comprises granting the association request if the first access device is the least-loaded access device. If the first access device is not the least-loaded access device, the method may further comprise denying the association request.
Abstract:
In a symmetric crossover structure of two lines formed of a lower conductor layer and a higher conductor layer above a substrate, each of the two lines is branched to two routes at where they are crossed over to each other. The first route of the first line uses the higher layer to cross the first route of the second line and the lower layer to cross over the second route of the second line. The second route of the first line uses the lower layer to cross over the first route of the second line and the higher layer to cross over the second route of the second line. The two lines therefore have symmetric coupling effects to the substrate.
Abstract:
An improved comparator circuit of the type which includes first and second differential PNP transistors operating in conjunction with a current mirror circuit includes an additional dual collector PNP transistor. That is, while the reference voltage is applied to the base of one of the differential transistors, the input voltage to be compared with the reference voltage applied to the emitter of the dual collector's transistor which has a first collector coupled to the base of the other differential transistor. The second collector is coupled to the base of the additional transistor. In this manner, should the input voltage fall below the substrate voltage, the additional transistor will be reverse biased thus preventing the parasitic diode at the base of the second differential transistor from turning on.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for completing smooth cut-over and a device and equipment for performing cut-over operations. The method comprises: when the device for performing cut-over operations maintains a first connection with the first cut-over device via a first interface, establishing a second connection with a second cut-over device via a second interface, and transferring the services carried on the connection resources between the device for performing cut-over operations and the first cut-over device, that is, the first connection resources, to the connection resources between the device for performing cut-over operations and the second cut-over device, that is, the second connection resources. The present invention does not interrupt services during the cut-over procedure, without affecting the normal service usage by the user, thus improving the security and reliability of cut-over.
Abstract:
A method for selecting feedback constants for two echo cancellers in an adaptive 2-wire to 2-wire repeater. The repeater is connected to two networks and when signals are received from both networks, the signal having the greater energy level is identified. A feedback constant of the echo canceller associated with the greater signal is set independent of the feedback constant of the other echo canceller. The feedback constant of the other echo canceller is set as a function of a ratio of the signal energy level of a lesser of to larger of the two signals received from the networks.

Abstract:
A valve retainer is provided for securably retaining a discharge valve assembly within a recess formed in a scroll. The valve retainer can be installed between the recess of the non-orbital scroll and the discharge valve assembly to retain the discharge valve assembly at the recess. The valve retainer can include a ring-like body having inwardly and/or outwardly extending tangs for cooperating with structure formed on the respective valve and the recess of the non-orbital scroll.
Abstract:
A ureteral stent is configured for improved patient comfort and aftercare. The stent can have one or more of the following features: a distal portion with a somewhat flattened, non-circular cross-section that provides reduced irritation and elimination of urine reflux; a proximal portion with a helical coil shape that allows self-anchoring of the stent below the kidney; and a portion along the body of the stent having a coil shape that allows self-adjustment of the stent with ureteral movement.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for a settling check based on a single time point is described. A settling criterion for head oscillations in a disc drive is calculated using head position data. The settling criterion is used to determine when the head position data remains within a predetermined limit based on head position data values at a single point in time. The apparatus includes an actuator in a disc drive system including a head coupled to the actuator to generate a head position signal and a servo controller to receive the head position signal to determine when the head position signal remains within a threshold. The settling criterion could either be an elliptical settling criterion in one embodiment, or a triangular settling criterion in another embodiment.
