Abstract: A compact wireless Internet of Things (IOT) gateway for use with industrial internal combustion engines having an engine control module (ECM). The IOT gateway incorporates components, such as a cellular modem and cellular antenna, that enable the IOT gateway to receive, process, and transmit data, particularly performance data related to the engine on which the IOT gateway is mounted. The IOT gateway includes both male and female connectors for connecting to both an ECM and a wire harness assembly on the internal combustion engine. Features of the IOT gateway enable remote monitoring of electronic performance data of the internal combustion engine, as well as updating and reconfiguring control software of the internal combustion engine.

Abstract: Domed articles are disclosed with reinforcements and adaptations for adhesively-applying them to a person's body while sleeping, to deter against the person from assuming an undesirable sleeping posture, which may include a posture that is commonly associated with louder and more dangerous snoring. The dome-like articles (1) are typically shaped like a campaign hat in that they have a central dome (or crown region) surrounded by a concentric, relatively-flat annular perimeter (or brim region), (2) have a hypoallergenic adhesive on a flat side of the brim—the side facing the person's body—for removably securing the domed article to the person's body, (3) are typically formed from a unitary plastic sheet with complex shapes and surface features that reinforce the strength of the dome to resist collapse when the person rolls onto it, such shapes and features including stress distributors and structural reinforcements such as intersecting arcuate ridges and/or troughs, and (4) typically have holes or other surface features to allow for ventilation of the space enclosed between the dome and the person's body.

Abstract: A process for converting spent grain into flour by drying and milling is disclosed. The process includes the steps of introducing a quantity of wet spent grain into a container for removing moisture by the action of gravity. After the gravity drying, the wet spent grain is transferred to a press to mechanically remove additional moisture. The wet spent grain is placed in a fluid bed processor where the grain additional moisture is removed through heating and fluidization. Some embodiments may include a dust collection system in connection with the fluid bed processor, wherein the dust collection system incorporates a separator for separating the grains. Once dried, the dry spent grain is introduced into a mill to be ground into the proper flour consistency. The resulting flour product can then be used for a variety of foodstuff applications.

Abstract: A mass-flow throttle for highly accurate control of gaseous supplies of fuel and/or air to the combustion chambers for a large engine in response to instantaneous demand signals from the engine's engine control module (ECM), especially for large spark-ignited internal combustion engines. With a unitary block assembly and a throttle blade driven by a non-articulated rotary actuator shaft, in combination with control circuitry including multiple pressure sensors as well as sensors for temperature and throttle position, the same basic throttle concepts are suited to be used for both mass-flow gas (MFG) and mass-flow air (MFA) throttles in industrial applications, to achieve highly accurate mass-flow control despite pressure fluctuations while operating in non-choked flow. The throttle, in combination with the sensors and ECM, enable detection of backfire events, with the throttle system further being enabled to take operative measures to prevent damage to the throttle components resulting from a backfire event.

Abstract: A system for identifying the calling device used to place a call in to an enterprise call center. The system also provides information about the network path through which the call was delivered. The system uses active “pinging” in the audio channel during the first few seconds of the call. The device of the invention sends a special sequence of audio tones from the callee to the caller over the audio channel. The system then records and analyses the resulting incoming audio and compares them with the original tones. The system uses that information to characterize the calling device, and possibly the network path as well. The system checks this information against previously stored information from a known valid caller to aid in verifying the identity of the caller, or to flag the call for further assessment via other methods.

Abstract: Virtually-integrated wire harness design and automated production systems and methods that achieve completely integrated data management by automatically producing scripts to dynamically propagate production commands and data to various subsystems for handling assembling necessary circuits and wire harness layout boards to produce corresponding batches of wire harnesses while script-based methods control configuring, testing, and using wire harness layout boards, and assembling, testing, reworking, and delivering wire harnesses.
