    摘要: A power supply including a luminescent solar concentrator (LSC) adapted for placement in an eye includes a base material transparent to visible light; and fluorescent particles doped within the base material. The fluorescent particles are capable of absorbing and reemitting light in the ultraviolet spectrum. A concentration of the fluorescent particles as a function of radius from an optical axis of the LSC is reduced in at least a portion of the base material outside of a pupil diameter. At least one photovoltaic cell is configured to receive the light in the ultraviolet spectrum trapped within the base material and to convert the trapped light into electricity.

    摘要: An optical device (102) configured for concentrating light towards a target element (104) is provided. The optical device (102) comprises a waveguide element (106) configured for guiding light towards the target element (104), and a wavelength conversion element (108) configured for converting incoming light of a first wavelength into outgoing light of a second wavelength. The wavelength conversion element (108) extends adjacent to the waveguide element (106). An interface (114) between the waveguide element (106) and the wavelength conversion element (108) comprises a surface roughness. The latter may provide for an in creased efficiency and low manufacturing costs of the optical device (102).

In one embodiment, a solar module includes a set of photovoltaic cells and a spectral concentrator optically coupled to the set of photovoltaic cells. The spectral concentrator is configured to: (1) collect incident solar radiation; (2) convert the incident solar radiation into substantially monochromatic, emitted radiation; and (3) convey the substantially monochromatic, emitted radiation to the set of photovoltaic cells.

It has been found that planar elements having a grooved or corrugated outer surface make for very good recapture elements for planar concentrator elements.
