摘要: Apparatus, systems, articles of manufacture, and methods for viewer authentication are disclosed. An example system includes a comparator to access audio metering data received from a user device and determine a level of exposure of a user of the user device to a program based on the audio metering data. The example system also includes a calculator to determine a weighting score based on the level of exposure. In addition, the example system includes a tallier to access voting data received from the user device for a ballot presented in the program and scale the voting data based on the weighting score.

摘要: A system and method for remotely verifying images shown on an electronic display is provided. A video player is electrically connected to the electronic display and causes the images to be displayed thereon. A processor directs a screen capture device to take a screen capture when a particular image is scheduled to be shown on the electronic display. The screen capture is stored on an electronic storage device and may be transferred to a networked database via a network connection device. A client may be able to access the screen captures through a user interface in connectivity with the networked database.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for inserting audience measurement data or interactive data into a compressed data bitstream are disclosed. An example apparatus disclosed herein includes a parser to access compressed audio data packets from a compressed data bitstream, a time shifter to time shift the compressed audio data packets in data frames of the compressed data bitstream to occupy locations of the data frames from which skip bytes are eliminated, and an inserter to insert at least one of audience measurement data or interactive data into auxiliary data fields of the data frames that increase in size due to the time shifting the compressed audio data.

Under broadcast control, local computers (73, 205), combine user information selectively into prior art communications to exhibit personalized mass media programming at video monitors (202), speakers (263), printers (221), etc. At intermediate transmission stations (e.g., cable television stations), signals in network broadcasts and from local inputs (74, 77, 97, 98) cause control processors (71) and computers (73) to selectively automate connection and operation of receivers (53), recorder/players (76), computers (73), generators (82), strippers (81), etc. At receiver stations, signals in received transmissions and from local inputs (225, 218, 22) cause control processors (200) and computers (205) to automate connection and operation of converters (201), tuners (215), decryptors (224), recorder/players (217), computers (205), furnaces (206), etc. Processors (71, 200) meter and monitor availability and usage of programming.

The system includes a unit for generating an advertisement candidate segment for an advertisement section detected from a broadcast stream a matching unit for determining whether the candidate segment matches each advertisement segment stored in a database (DB); a unit for, if the matching unit determines that a segment matching the candidate segment is not present, determining whether the candidate segment is a direct response advertisement; a registration unit for storing the candidate segment, determined to be a direct response advertisement, as an advertisement segment that is the direct response advertisement in the DB; and a direct response advertisement grouping unit for, if the matching unit determines that an advertisement segment matching the candidate segment is present, and the matching segment is a direct response advertisement, grouping the candidate segment with DB-stored advertisement segments that are direct response advertisements.

摘要: A method enhances an emergency reporting system for controlling equipment. A message receiver receives an electronic message from a person. The electronic message is a report regarding an emergency event related to equipment. One or more processors identify a profile of the person who sent the electronic message, and determine a bias of the person regarding the emergency event based on the person's profile. One or more processors amend, based on the bias of the person, a content of the electronic message to create a modified electronic message regarding the emergency event. The message receiver detects that the modified electronic message came from an unauthorized source. A local controller on the equipment, in response to detecting that the modified electronic message came from the unauthorized source, automatically isolates the equipment from remote control signals for controlling the equipment.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for inserting data a compressed data bitstream are disclosed. An example method includes inserting audience measurement data in a compressed bitstream by eliminating a first type of data within the compressed data bitstream, packing a second type of data to occupy a location within the compressed data bitstream from which the first type of data is eliminated, and inserting the audience measurement data in a predetermined location within the compressed data bitstream that is expanded as a result of the packing of the second type of data to form a modified compressed data bitstream. The example method also includes generating the ratings information based on the modified compressed data bitstream.
