摘要： Methods and apparatus to perform audio watermarking and watermark detection and extraction are disclosed. Example apparatus disclosed herein are to select frequency components to be used to represent a code, different sets of frequency components to represent respectively different information, respective ones of the frequency components in the sets of frequency components located in respective code bands, there being multiple code bands and spacing between adjacent code bands being equal to or less than the spacing between adjacent frequency components in the code bands. Disclosed example apparatus are also to synthesize the frequency components to be used to represent the code, combine the synthesized frequency components with an audio block of an audio signal, and output the audio signal and a video signal associated with the audio signal.

An example apparatus includes an audience measurement monitor to detect a presence of an intentionally placed prop in media by processing metadata stored in a local memory at the audience measurement monitor, user interaction with the prop causing a display of information related to the prop; detect a selection of a uniform resource locator (URL) displayed with the media by an audience member during presentation of the intentionally placed prop in the media, the selection of the URL causing a display device displaying the media to access a web page including information related to the intentionally placed prop; and identify the media in which the intentionally placed prop is located; and a collection facility to generate a report including at least one of the presence of the intentionally placed prop or the selection of URL.

Disclosed example apparatus are to obtain a plurality of Internet Protocol addresses assigned to a media device associated with a panel member. Disclosed example apparatus are also to determine a most used Internet Protocol address from the plurality of Internet Protocol addresses, determine a geographic location corresponding to the most used Internet Protocol address, associate a geographic area with the media device in response to a determination that the geographic location corresponds to a location of an internet service provider, determine a demographic profile associated with the geographic area, and associate the demographic profile with the media device.

An example apparatus includes a media content analyzer to detect a watermark encoded in media monitored by a meter. The apparatus includes a media environment analyzer to estimate an amount of background noise in an environment in which the media is monitored by the meter. The apparatus further includes a signature scheme selector to select a first signature scheme from among a plurality of signature schemes to generate monitored signatures of the media. The first signature scheme is selected based on the amount of background noise. The apparatus also includes a signature generator to generate a first monitored signature of the media based on the first signature scheme.

An example method includes accessing a record indicating a public Internet Protocol (IP) address used by a fixed device. A monitoring data record received from a mobile device is accessed. A demographic segment of a user of the mobile device is determined. The mobile device is associated with the fixed device when an IP address of the mobile device from the monitoring data record matches the public IP address used by the fixed device. The demographic segment of the user of the mobile device is associated with the fixed device based on the association of the fixed device and the mobile device.

An example apparatus includes a server to access metadata identifying media presented to a user, and cookie data, the metadata and the cookie data provided by a client device. A user identifier comparator is to determine whether the cookie data identifies the user to the database proprietor, the server to, in response to the user identifier comparator determining that the cookie data does not identify the user to the database proprietor, send a redirect message instructing the client device to retransmit the metadata to a next-hop location. A metadata transmitter is to, in response to the user identifier comparator determining that the cookie data does identify the user to the database proprietor, provide the metadata and the user identifier to a central facility.
