    摘要: An engine driven welder has a fuel tank with a filler tube that extends upwardly from a reservoir in the machine base. The filler tube upper end and a cap thereon are below the machine top cover. The machine top cover has a cutout into which is installed a grommet that closes the cutout and that fully protects the filler tube upper end and the cap. The grommet has a hole that seals over a top portion of the filler tube such that any spilled fuel does not leak inside the machine. The filler tube has an expansion space that prevents splashback and spillover during fueling. An angled tail pipe directs engine exhaust away from the welding machine in any desired direction.

    摘要: Disclosed is a new and unique cylindrical bracket for use with a motor or engine having an elongated rotatable shaft which attaches over the shaft. The bracket has a semi-cylindrical opening along one side. A hydraulic pump or other apparatus is attached to and supported by the bracket in order to be operated by the shaft. One or more pulleys may be placed on the shaft, the open side of the bracket allowing belt access to them. In this way, the rotatable shaft may directly operate the apparatus at the end of the bracket, while also providing belt driven operation to one or more other devices lateral to the shaft and bracket. Simultaneous operation of two or more devices using the same engine is therefore made possible by the present invention. This is particularly useful in spraying devices which require simultaneous operation of hydraulic pumps and air compressors.

    摘要: A secondary balancer device provided below a cylinder block of an engine including a front balancer shaft and a rear balancer shaft which are rotated in opposite directions and have longitudinally central main journal portions carried in a balancer holder, respectively. Bracing journal portions are provided on axial ends of one of the front and rear balancer shafts and supported in a pump body and a pump cover of an oil pump provided below the cylinder block, respectively. A pump shaft of the oil pump and the front balancer shaft are connected to a crankshaft by a common endless chain and rotated at different numbers of revolutions. Thus, the number of parts for supporting the balancer shafts can be reduced, while maintaining the freedom of setting the number of revolutions of the oil pump of the engine.

    摘要: An accessory control system for a vehicle which includes an engine, cooling fan driven by the engine and a selectively-operable, power-requiring accessory includes an electronic logic control module which is packaged within a logic control box and which is electrically connected between various sensors and various power-requiring accessories. The accessory control system further includes a first signal output line which is electrically connected between the logic control module and a power-requiring accessory, such as a combine unloader. Also connected to the logic control module is an engine temperature sensor which operates on a thermocouple principle and is connected to a relay within the logic control module. If the engine temperature is below a threshold level then the logic control module is able to disengage the cooling fan so as to make additional horsepower available for operation of the power-requiring accessory. The engine temperature sensor is electrically connected to the logic control module and the logic control module is further connected to the engaging clutch for the cooling fan. While the power-requiring accessory (unloader) is being used, if the engine temperature rises to the threshold level the corresponding signal will be sent to the logic control module which will reengage the cooling fan in order to protect the engine from overheating. By being able to divert horsepower from some accessory which is not required, another accessory can be used without any significant reduction in the engine horsepower which is used to drive the vehicle at a desired speed.

    摘要: The two-speed transmission (10) for driving an alternator or other engine accessory includes an enclosed gear case (12). An output shaft (28) passes through both ends of the gear case. Bearings (30, 32) supported on the gear case support the ends of the output shaft. A tubular input shaft (64) surrounds the output shaft and is journaled on the output shaft between the two output shaft support bearings. A planet gear carrier (86) is rotatably journaled on the output shaft inside the gear case. Compound planet gears (112) are rotatably supported by the planet gear carrier (86) with one planet (116) of each compound planet gear in mesh with a sun gear (84) on the tubular input shaft (64) and with a planet (118) of each compound planet gear in mesh with a sun gear (94) on the output shaft (28). A brake assembly (124, 136 and 142) is either applied to lock the planet gear carrier (86) to the gear case or is released to let the planet carrier rotate in the gear case. When the tubular input shaft (64) is driven and the brake assembly holds the planet carrier (86), torque is transmitted from the input shaft to the input sun gear (84) to the first planet gear (116) to the second planet gear (118) to the output sun gear (94) and to the output shaft (28). When the brake assembly is released, torque passes from the tubular input shaft (64) directly to the output shaft (28) through a one-way clutch (67) and the input and output shafts run at the same speed. A lubrication system lubricates critical bearings in the transmission.

    摘要: A drive system for a tracked vehicle includes an engine carried in an engine housing and a transmission carried in a transmission housing. The axes of rotation of an engine output shaft, a drive transmission input and drive transmission output shaft are parallel to each other. Drivingly interconnecting the engine output shaft and the transmission input is a transfer gear carried in a transfer housing. The transfer housing is rigidly connected to the engine housing and drivingly engages the transmission input through a rotational coupling which permits radial and skew angular offsets between an axis of rotation of the transfer gear output and the axis of rotation of the transmission input to accommodate dimensional variation in the drive system components from ideal specified dimensions without stress. The engine housing and the transmission housing are detachably interconnected at their respective longitudinal ends by connecting links which permit limited movement of the housings relative to one another except about the main axes of rotation. As a result, drive transmission functions as a unitary mass in a horizontal plane and may be supported from three bearing mounts to which engine frame supports are connected.
