    摘要: A settable down hole includes a set of metal slips which include intersecting zones of weakness in the metal which fracture into a large set of pieces during setting of the tool so the pieces can be circulated out of a well without further reduction in size. One zone of weakness is a closed bore passage extending axially through one or more of the slip segments. An expander cone of increased hardness allows an increased angle on the expander cone and slips.

In an embodiment, the method further comprises flowing a material into the slots formed in the casing to seal the wellbore.

    摘要: An apparatus and method are for cutting and pulling of a casing in a well. The apparatus comprises a housing connected to a wired connection, a cutting tool arranged in connection with the housing, where said cutting tool is rotatable around the longitudinal axis of the housing and arranged to be able to provide at least one cut-out in the wall of the casing and to be able to cut the casing, and a holding device for controlled holding of the housing in the casing. The apparatus is provided with at least one radially displaceable gripping means arranged to go into engagement with the at least one cut-out in the wall of the casing. The method comprises bringing the apparatus down into the well; positioning the apparatus in order to carry out a first cut; carrying out the first cut; positioning the apparatus in order to carry out a second cut; carrying out the second cut; one of the first cut and the second cut comprising cutting of the casing; bringing at least one gripping means into engagement with at least one of the first and the second cut; and pulling the cut casing out of the well by means of the apparatus.

The tool is equipped with a hydraulic axial drive actuator suitable for use in wireline deployment. The actuator itself includes a reciprocating piston with a ball screw that threadably interfaces a ball nut for dampening the axial drive imparted by the piston. As such, even though hydraulically driven at generally well under about 10 horsepower, bounce in the axial drive is substantially eliminated.

    摘要: A multi-stage flow sub usable in wellbore operations provides for flow of fluid from a tool string to a wellbore annulus, and may provide for one or more of controlling wellbore pressure during a tool operation, or preventing stripping of wet string. The multi-stage flow sub may include a housing having an axial bore and at least one flow passage. A sleeve within the housing may have an axial bore, a shoulder acting as a ball seat, and first and second axially offset flow passages. A first burst disc may be in fluid communication with the first flow passage, and a second burst disc may be in fluid communication with the second flow passage, the second burst disc having a higher burst pressure than the first burst disc.

    摘要: Cutter blades extend and stay extended as long as pressure on a piston is continued. The blades either open fully in open hole or cut through the wall of a tubular and then mill in an uphole direction to take out a piece of the tubular. The piston that held out the blades when pressure was applied is acted on by a return bias when the pressure is removed so that the blades can retract and the tool removed through the cut tubular. As a backup a plug can be dropped to obstruct a through passage in the piston so that pressure from the surface can be used to force the piston back to retract the blades. Continued drilling operations or the cut and milled portion can be then blocked off such as with cement for a plug and abandonment of the well.
