    Abstract: A downhole valve apparatus, for controlling fluid flow in drilling operations, includes a tubular housing and a float valve movably held within a valve bore of the tubular housing and partially within a stress relief bore. The float valve is axially movable relative to the tubular housing while in a sealing relationship with the valve bore between a first configuration and a second configuration of the downhole valve apparatus. A valve member of the float valve allows a downward flow of a drilling fluid of a first pressure to flow through the float valve in the first configuration, and the valve member blocks an upward flow of any fluid of a second pressure from the well through the float valve in the second configuration.

    Abstract: A reaming tool includes a housing having a connection at one end for coupling to a pipe string. The housing defines at least one of a rotor and a stator of a turbine. A rotor shaft is rotatably supported on the housing. The rotor shaft has an interior passage and defines the other of a stator and a rotor of the turbine. The rotor shaft has a coupling at one end to attach a well intervention tool. A flow diverter is disposed within the housing. The flow diverter comprises ports to selectively direct flow of fluid from an interior of the housing to either (i) an annular space between the housing and the rotor shaft, or (ii) the interior passage of the rotor shaft. The flow diverter is operable to change direction of the flow of fluid by changing a flow rate of the flow of fluid.

    Abstract: A desander assembly retrievably positionable in a tubing string including a fishing neck, a bypass tool, a stop assembly configured to retrievably mate with a portion of the tubing string, an outer tubular member, and an inner tubular member. The outer tubular member has at least one aperture extending. The inner tubular member is positioned in the outer tubular member to form an annulus and so a bore of the inner tubular member is in fluid communication with the bypass tool. The inner tubular member has at least one spiral protrusion extending outwardly from the sidewall to cooperate with an interior side of the outer tubular member to form a spiral channel.     Abstract: A system for producing fluids from a wellbore extending from a well surface to a fluid-producing formation has a Y-tool installed in fluid communication with the tubing string placed in the wellbore. A pump, which may be an electric submersible pump (ESP), is installed in the Y-tool for lifting fluids from the formation to the surface. A blanking plug is positioned in the tubing string between the upper and lower connections of the Y-tool. A flushing tank is run downhole to a position just above the blanking plug. Flushing fluid is dumped from an orifice or nozzle on the lower end of the flushing tank to agitate and disperse any accumulated sand, scale and other particulate matter on top of the blanking plug.

    Abstract: This disclosure presents a downhole device configured as a selectable hole trimmer. The selectable hole trimmer comprises an upper sleeve affixed inside a body via a stop. A charge sleeve is slidable inside the upper sleeve to provide a pressure to a pressurized volume. A catch sleeve is slidable inside the charge sleeve to align a bypass port and a return port with a drilling mud volume. An actuator is fluidly connected to the pressurized volume via a port. The actuator is configured to provide a pressure to a selectable hole cutter of the body via an actuation port in the transfer sleeve and actuate the selectable hole cutter piston of the selectable hole cutter to move relative to the body, wherein the cutter piston comprises one or more cutters. A manual controller configured to operate the actuator in response to a dropped activation ball.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to an activation method, an activation mechanism and a downhole tool comprising the activation mechanism. The activation mechanism com-prises a pressure switch for turning power to the electrical components, a control unit connected to a pressure sensor for sensing the internal pressure of the drilling fluid located in a first fluid conduit. The control unit controls an actuator unit connected to a moveable valve element. The actuator unit moves the valve element from a closed position when activated. A seat for the valve element is arranged relative to a second fluid conduit so that the valve element closes the second conduit when it is placed in its seat. This provides a very fast and accurate activation method that involves the use of balls or RFID tags. Furthermore, the downhole tool can be activated even if no actual flow is passing through the tool.
