摘要: Carbide-derived carbons are provided that have high dynamic loading capacity for high vapor pressure gasses such as H2S, SO2, or NH3. The carbide-derived carbons can have a plurality of metal chloride or metallic nanoparticles entrapped therein. Carbide-derived carbons are provided by extracting a metal from a metal carbide by chlorination of the metal carbide to produce a porous carbon framework having residual metal chloride nanoparticles incorporated therein, and annealing the porous carbon framework with H2 to remove residual chloride by reducing the metal chloride nanoparticles to produce the metallic nanoparticles entrapped within the porous carbon framework. The metals can include Fe, Co, Mo, or a combination thereof. The carbide-derived carbons are provided with an ammonia dynamic loading capacity of 6.9 mmol g−1 to 10 mmol g−1 at a relative humidity of 0% RH to 75% RH.

摘要: A material, and filters and other structures exposed to flowing gas that have the material therein, which removes VOCs, such as formaldehyde, from the gas. The material is a porous sorbent impregnated by a metal oxide, such as manganese oxide (MnOx) nano particles. The sorbent may be activated carbon, and the manganese oxide may catalyze formaldehyde to water and carbon dioxide while the carbon may adsorb formaldehyde, both mechanisms of which remove the VOC from the air to prevent or reduce inhalation of the same by humans. The material may be combined with an untreated sorbent or sorbent treated with ionic alkaline salts.

摘要: A honeycomb rotor recovering and concentrating apparatus recovers a gas such as carbon dioxide from flue gases and the like and may be capable of utilizing low-temperature waste heat 100° C. or less. The proposed method involves sorbing carbon dioxide while vaporizing and cooling by contacting a water-insoluble carbon dioxide sorbing material (solid amines, etc.) having an acidic gas sorptive capacity with a mixed gas containing carbon dioxide in a wet state. Warm water is brought into contact with the water-insoluble carbon dioxide sorbing material sorbed with carbon dioxide to desorb high concentration of carbon dioxide. The warm water is separated from the water-insoluble carbon dioxide sorbent material desorbed from carbon dioxide. Then the apparatus is returned from the separation step to the sorption step. Thereby, it is possible to drastically increase the recovery rate and recovery concentration of acidic gas (carbon dioxide) continuously.

摘要: A multi-layer filter material for an interior air filter element of an air conditioning system of a vehicle may include an active layer having a plurality of non-impregnated activated carbon particles, an impregnation layer having a plurality of impregnated activated carbon particles, and an ion exchange layer having a plurality of ion exchanger particles. The active layer may be arranged between the ion exchange layer and the impregnation layer. The active layer may further include a first ash content and the impregnation layer may further include a second ash content. The first ash content in the active layer may be less than the second ash content in the impregnation layer.
