Abstract: In an aspect, a satellite-based non-terrestrial network configures multiple preconfigured uplink resources (PURs) for a user equipment (UE). The PURs may be configured one PUR per beam, one PUR per cell, or one PUR for multiple cells. A serving cell of the UE and one or more cells adjacent to the serving cell may each have an associated PUR. The UE selects one of the multiple PURs and sends a transmission using the selected PUR without the UE have a connection to the network. The network sends an ACK in response to the transmission. Either the UE or the network can specify that the UE is to transmit using a first PUR and receive the ACK on a second PUR. The UE can specify when and which PUR to use in the transmission and the network can specify when and which PUR to use in the ACK.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some networks, a user equipment (UE) may switch between serving beams of a transmitting device that are associated with different bandwidth parts of a radio frequency spectrum. To improve aspects of beam measurement and selection, a UE may be configured to support various techniques for beam measurement according to the different bandwidth parts. For example, a UE may receive a beam measurement configuration associated with one or more beams, and may monitor for reference signals associated with the beams using the different bandwidth parts. The UE may determine a channel quality of one or more of the beams based on the monitoring, and transmit a beam measurement report to the network in accordance with the beam measurement configuration. In some examples, such a report may be transmitted based on the UE determining that an event condition is satisfied.

Further, the UE may enter a radio resource configuration (RRC) connected mode based upon receipt of the system information, and transmit an acquisition indication of receipt of the system information, the acquisition indication identifying an instance within the modification period of receipt of the system information.

The UE completes selection or reselection of the target cell or completes the connectivity with the target cell, based on the cell type.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless devices may support a prediction capability for prediction-based control information. A first device may receive, from a second device, first control signaling that activates the predication capability of the first device to generate a set of one or more control parameters for communications. The second device may transmit second control signaling to the first device to indicate initial values of the control parameters and a channel condition model for the first device. The first device and the second device may generate a set of multiple values associated with the control parameters over a time period based on the initial values of the control parameters and the channel condition model. The first device and the second device may communicate during at least the time period according to the set of generated values associated with the control parameters.

Described techniques provide for dynamic configuration of feedback, repetition, and/or modulation and coding scheme(s) for transmissions within an application data unit (ADU). A user equipment (UE) and a network entity may communicate control signaling indicating transmission configurations for a set of multiple time domain durations within an ADU and a start of a first time domain duration. The transmission configurations may indicate a number of repetitions for each transmission. In some cases, the network entity may transmit control signaling that separately configures a number of repetitions for each feedback process of a set of multiple feedback processes associated with an ADU and indicates whether repetition is enabled for each feedback process and a redundancy version identifier sequence for repetitions for each feedback process. The UE and the network entity may communicate transmissions within the ADU in accordance with the control signaling.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling identifying a configuration of a set of uplink slots for the UE to transmit uplink reference signals to a satellite. The UE may transmit, to the satellite, a set of uplink reference signals on the set of uplink slots according to the configuration. The set of uplink reference signals may include sounding reference signals (SRSs), positioning references signals (PRSs), or both. In some implementations, the UE may transmit the set of uplink reference signals in accordance with one or more timing advance values, where the timing advance values are indicated to the satellite by the UE, pre-configured by the satellite, or both. The UE may then, from a network node, an indication of a position of the UE based on the set of uplink reference signals.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a codebook type for transmitting hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback by the UE to a second device (e.g., a network device, a satellite, or a base station). The indication of the codebook type may indicate a HARQ feedback transmission configuration, such as a static HARQ feedback transmission configuration. The HARQ transmission configuration may be associated with a one bit or two bit HARQ codebook. The UE may receive a scheduled downlink shared channel transmission, and attempt to decode the received downlink shared channel transmission. The UE may transmit (or refrain from transmitting) the HARQ feedback based on the decoding of the scheduled downlink shared channel transmission and in accordance with the feedback mode.
