Abstract: Provided are a composition for coating a separator, a method of preparing a separator by using the same, a separator, and a lithium battery employing the separator. The composition for coating a separator includes: a polyacrylamide-based copolymer including a cross-linking reactive group; inorganic particles; and water, and the cross-linking reactive group includes at least two functional groups cross-linkable with each other. The composition for coating a separator may be used as a one-component type without a crosslinker, and a separator having high thermal resistance characteristics may be prepared by using the composition.

Abstract: The invention relates to nanostructured hybrid polymer composite membranes and methods for producing same. Specifically, the invention relates to nanofiber membranes produced through various methods, including electrospinning of at least one polymer into a non-woven nanofiber structure. Abstract: This application relates to the field of battery technologies, and in particular, to a binder and a preparation method thereof, and a separator, electrode assembly, battery cell, battery, and electric apparatus containing such binder. The binder includes a core layer structure and a shell layer structure provided on surface of the core layer structure, where the core layer structure includes a polyvinylidene fluoride polymer, and the shell layer structure includes a polyacrylate polymer. Polyvinylidene fluoride is a homopolymer with a crystallinity of about 50%, resulting in insufficient adhesion force. Therefore, in this application, the polyacrylate polymer is used to encapsulate the polyvinylidene fluoride polymer to obtain a core-shell-structured binder, so that the crystallinity of the polyvinylidene fluoride polymer in the core-shell-structured binder is improved, and adhesion performance of the core-shell-structured binder is improved, thereby increasing adhesion force between a separator and an electrode plate via the binder.

An object thereof is to be attained by using a binder dispersion for a non-aqueous secondary battery separator, the binder dispersion including a polymer and an aqueous medium, in which the polymer has an acid value of 15 mgKOH/g or less and is an ethylenically unsaturated monomer mixture containing (meth)acrylamide and a nonionic ethylenically unsaturated monomer with a specific value for an octanol/water partition coefficient logarithm (Log Kow) at 25° C., and light transmittance at a wavelength of 400 nm is less than 70% under a condition of a solid concentration of 5% by mass.

A lithium-ion battery including the separator, provided by the present application, improves the safety performance of the lithium-ion battery.

Abstract: A heat-resistant sticky coating for use on a membrane or lithium ion battery separator is disclosed. The coating has at least improved dry adhesion to an electrode for a lithium ion battery. The coating includes heat-resistant particles with a water-soluble sticky polymer on their surface. The water-soluble sticky polymer may be a polyethylene oxide (PEO). The coating may also include particles of water-insoluble sticky polymer. The water-insoluble sticky polymer may be a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) homopolymer, copolymer, or terpolymer. The water-insoluble sticky polymer may be in the same layer of the coating as the heat-resistant particles with the water-soluble sticky polymer on their surface, or it may be in a different layer. A method for forming the heat-resistant sticky coating is also disclosed.

Abstract: Battery separators and methods are disclosed. The battery separator may be used in a lithium battery. The separator may include a microporous membrane laminated to a coated nonwoven. The coating may contain a polymer and optionally, a filler or particles. The methods may include the steps of: unwinding the microporous membrane and the nonwoven, laminating the nonwoven and microporous membrane, and coating the nonwoven before or after lamination.
