Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for performing thermal mitigation for one or more devices. For instance, a temperature, humidity, amount of light, and/or other characteristic or factor associated with a vehicle can be obtained. Whether to transition one or more communication functions from the vehicle to a user device can be determined based on the temperature, humidity, etc. In response to a determination to transition the one or more communication functions, the one or more communication functions can be transitioned from a communication unit of the vehicle to a communication unit of the user device.

Abstract: A communication device mounted on a vehicle, e.g., On-Board Unit (OBU), communicates collision related information to other road entities, e.g., other vehicles or roadside units (RSUs) or a server, after a collision is detected. The OBU may temporarily store basic safety messages (BSMs) (and optionally sensor data) for a predesignated number of seconds before discarding the BSMs (and optionally sensor data) on a continuing basis. When a collision is detected, the OBU sends a report, e.g., to a server, with the stored BSMs (and optionally sensor data) to a server. After a collision detection, the OBU may send a request to other vehicles to upload relevant collision related information. Additionally, if a first vehicle detects the collision of a second vehicle, the first vehicle may communicate collision related information to other entities and a server.

Abstract: Systems and techniques are described for validating object detection. For example, an apparatus can obtain sensor data corresponding to a field-of-view of a vehicle. The apparatus can receive a message from a wireless device. The message includes an indication of at least one object in the field-of-view of the vehicle and a reported location of the at least one object. The apparatus can further determine, based on the sensor data and the message from the wireless device, whether the wireless device has misreported the at least one object.

Abstract: Techniques described herein include utilizing a mobile device as a proxy receiver and/or transmitter for a vehicle in a V2X network. In some embodiments, the mobile device associated mobile device capabilities may be configured to obtain vehicle capabilities and store such data in memory at the mobile device. The mobile device may obtain any suitable combination of a reception credential and one or more transmission credentials. In some embodiments, the one or more transmission credentials may be generated by a credential authority based at least in part on determining that the vehicle capabilities and mobile device capabilities indicate that the sensor(s) and/or processing resources of the vehicle and/or mobile device meet transmission requirement thresholds for the network. The mobile device may subsequently transmit any suitable data message on behalf of the vehicle using at least one of the transmission credentials.

Abstract: Techniques described herein include utilizing a mobile device as a proxy receiver for a vehicle such that a driver of the vehicle can be presented driving assistance information based on messages received by the mobile device. The mobile device can determine that it is temporally located with the vehicle. If so, the mobile device can be configured to receive messages from other entities (e.g., vehicles, roadside units, traffic signals, and the like) in a vehicle-to-everything network. On reception, the mobile device may determine whether a received data message is relevant to the vehicle. In response to determining that the data message is, in fact, relevant to the vehicle, the mobile device may provide driving assistance information that is generated based at least in part on the information provided in the received data message.

Abstract: A user device and transportation entity, such as a transport vehicle or transport server, perform information exchanges for a transportation service using Device-to-Device (D2D) communications, such as dedicated short-range communication (DSRC), a cellular Vehicle-to-Everything (C-V2X), or a 5G New Radio (NR). The information exchanges, for example, are related to, e.g., logistics and delivery of transportation services. For example, the user device may transmit a transportation request message that includes information elements, such as an identifier, a type of transport device requested, a number of users, requested destination, etc. The transportation entity may transmit a transportation response message accepting or rejecting the request. Additional messages, such as a status request and status of the transportation, as well as messages related to completing the transportation service may be exchanged.
