    摘要: Multiple copies of web services reside on associated computing devices, each having an associated reputation. A client may desire to access the web service having the highest or best reputation to be ensured of a greater degree of accuracy and confidence. The client does a search, and attaches to whichever web service has the highest reputation. By running multiple copies of the web services, they may vote amongst themselves on the results in the event that one or more of the services starts giving incorrect or otherwise inconsistent results. Combining the voting with reputation data associated with each copy of the web service allows a service's reputation to be dynamically adjusted based upon how faithfully it computes the results of work items sent to it.

    摘要: A digital filter and method of filtering frequency translate or shift a spectrum of a digital input signal and further filter a translated signal to reduce or attenuate frequency components in the spectrum of the input signal. The digital filter includes first and second translators and a first filter. The first filter is connected between the first and second translators and is centered approximately at DC. The digital filter may further include a second filter, a third translator connected to an output of the second filter, a complex local oscillator connected to an LO input of each translator, and a complex-to-real converter connected to an output of the third translator. The method includes frequency translating the digital input signal and separately frequency translating a first translated signal after the first translated signal is filtered to produce a second translated signal.

Additionally, an XML-channel connection can be established within the browser between the parent page and child page, which can be used to bidirectionally communicate text-based messages containing HTTP commands and XML content directly between the parent page and child page. This cross-domain communication of messages takes place completely within the browser.

    摘要: A reflective process algebra called the ρ-calculus facilitates the serialization of processes at the level of the reflective process algebra. The reflective process algebra because of its reflective properties, can be used on computing systems with finite resources. The reflective process calculus can be made to be sensitive to resources, such as memory and bandwidth, hence facilitating its use as a programming language at the machine level. The reflective process calculus causes the dual nature of a computation entity to be exposed. A name can be caused to become a process and a process can be caused to become a name.

    摘要: A method generating a digital waveform, pulse generators and VNAs based thereon are disclosed. The digital waveform is generated in response to user-supplied parameters defining a sawtooth chirp signal. A digital baseband chirp signal that depends on the input parameters is first generated and then the digital baseband signal is upconverted to a center frequency to form an upconverted chirp signal. The upconverted chirp signal is then converted to an M-ary signal having M levels and then (optionally) filtered through a band pass filter to attenuate frequency components of the digital chirp signal outside a predetermined band of frequencies. The digital baseband chirp signal can also include the sum of first and second chirp signals having amplitudes and phase determined to reduce variations in amplitude as a function of frequency in a predetermined band of frequencies.

    摘要: A Decentralized System Services (DSS) architecture defines a framework for building fault-tolerant distributed applications across decentralized and heterogeneous systems. DSS enables “complexity through composition” by defining distributed designs as compositions of limited function and observable services which may be quickly and dynamically assembled to perform higher level functions. DSS defines a standardized interaction between distributed services using sessionless, asynchronous communications with explicit failure semantics. Accounting for latency, failure and state management all become a natural part of the design process. DSS includes a runtime implementation for managing concurrent services—the Common Concurrency Runtime (CCR), a protocol for service interactions—the Web Services Application Protocol (WSAP), and a set of required service behaviors which provide for composibility, location independence, and fault tolerance—Distributed Protocol Oriented Programming (DPOP). DSS also includes a set of base level infrastructure services which make it easy to communicate, secure, distribute, debug, and store content across devices.
