    摘要: The invention relates to a method for demoulding a casting from a casting mould having at least one casting core which images a passage opening in the casting connecting two outer sides of the casting and is produced from a moulding material bound by a binder which decomposes under the influence of temperature, wherein the casting mould undergoes a heat treatment in a furnace for the demoulding, during which it is heated to a temperature at which the binder loses its binding effect.In the furnace, hot gas is flowed through a passage formed in the casting core of the casting mould the temperature of the hot gas corresponding at least to the temperature at which the binder of the moulding material loses it binding effect such that the casting core decomposes into fragments or separate sand particles as a consequence of the influence of the hot gas.

    摘要: An article and a method for forming a single crystal casting are disclosed. The article includes a single crystal nickel-based superalloy having a composition including greater than about 80 ppm boron (B) and a substantially single crystal microstructure with at least one grain boundary. A creep rupture strength of the article is substantially maintained up to a mismatched grain boundary of about 40 degrees. The method for forming a single crystal casting includes positioning a mold on a cooling plate, the mold including a single crystal selector, providing a molten nickel-based superalloy composition in the mold, the molten composition including greater than about 80 ppm boron (B), cooling the molten composition with the cooling plate, and forming a unidirectional temperature gradient by withdrawing the mold from within a heat source to form the single crystal casting including a substantially single crystal microstructure having at least one grain boundary.

    摘要: A casting component comprising essentially no macro porosity by having the casting material fill the mold cavity with a laminar flow is disclosed. In one embodiment, the gas within the mold cavity will not be entrained when the flow is laminar. Control of this flow behavior is directly related to the microstructure and thixotropy of the alloy. The SLC slurry have a thixotropic nature and a non-turbulent way of flowing into a casting die, allowing the process to be capable of producing cast parts having thin sections, geometric complexity and close dimensional tolerances without entrapped gas porosity. The thixotropic aluminum slurry may be characterized by a uniform primary aluminum particle size in the range of 50 to 80 microns. A uniform distribution of this microstructure throughout the injected aluminum volume encourages laminar flow of the aluminum into the die cavity.
