    摘要: The circuit for controlling a rotating three-phase motor of the type having three interconnected motor coils each corresponding to one of three phases employs a plurality of switching circuit components, each connected to the motor to supply current to one of the coils. A signal generator circuit produces in synchronism with the rotation of the motor a variable duty cycle pulse-width modulated signal for each of the switching circuit components. A logic gating circuit is coupled to the signal generator circuit and to the switching components. The logic gating circuit is operative to cause the switching circuit components to selectively place pairs of motor coils in current conducting states such that when the variable duty cycle pulse-width modulated signals are each concurrently in the same logical on-off state, the logic gating circuit supplies a logical off state to each of the switching circuit components.

    摘要: An electric motor including a first conductive winding, a second conductive winding, a rotor, and a controller is disclosed. When energized by an AC source, the first conductive winding generates a first magnetic field. The second conductive winding, which is configured to be selectively energized by the AC source via one or more switches, is arranged so as to generate a second magnetic field superimposed with the first magnetic field when so energized. The rotor magnetically interacts with the first magnetic field, or the superimposed first magnetic field and second magnetic field, such that a torque is applied on the rotor. The controller is configured to: (i) obtain a measurement of a voltage of the AC source; (ii) make a determination, based on the measurement, whether to energize the second conductive winding; and (iii) energize the second conductive winding in accordance with the determination.

Acceleration is traded off in favor of higher velocity upon detecting an electric motor is at an optimal angular-velocity for switching to an optimal lower torque constant and voltage constant.
