    摘要: A motor drive circuit comprising: a motor bridge, comprising a bridge arm comprising upper and lower switches for each motor phase, which may be selectively closed to modulate voltage applied to the respective phases to drive signals from a motor control circuit, at least one solid-state-phase-isolation-relay (SSPIR) provided in series in an electrical path connecting a respective phase of the motor to a respective bridge arm, the SSPIR being closed in normal operation so that current can flow in the phase and held open in a fault mode of operation to prevent current flow, a monitoring arrangement for monitoring a current waveform in the phase to identify when it is safe to open the SSPIR without causing damage to the SSPIR due to an avalanche mode, and a control circuit that applies a voltage to each SSPIR that is sufficient to hold the SSPIR closed in normal operation is only opened when the current is in a safe operational area.

    摘要: A circuit includes phase windings to receive alternating current (AC) line voltage. The circuit has a direct current (DC) power supply, a power switch circuit comprising at least one power switch, and a control circuit to turn off the power switch circuit when a rotor associated with the circuit is in an identified rotor position, rotor magnet polarity, or speed relative to the AC line voltage. The circuit also has at least one non-collapsing DC power supply component to prevent the DC power supply from collapsing when the at least one power switch is on and conducting during at least a portion of a cycle. One or more of the DC power supply, power switch circuit, and control circuit may be at a midpoint of the phase windings.

    摘要: An isolation switch driver includes a control circuit to control conduction of an isolation switch and a voltage monitor circuit to monitor a control voltage coupled to the isolation switch and to generate a fault indication if the control voltage is less than a predetermined threshold. The isolator driver can drive an isolation switch coupled between a bridge network and a motor in a motor control system. The monitor circuit can monitor a voltage between a gate terminal and a source terminal of the isolation switch and include a resistive element coupled between the gate terminal and the source terminal to generate a current proportional to the VGS voltage, a current mirror to shift a level of the current to a reference potential, and a comparator to compare the level-shifted current to a threshold current.
