    摘要: In one embodiment, a grid application function is hosted at a primary grid device in a utility grid, which may determine whether or not to distribute at least a portion of the grid application function to one or more distributed secondary grid devices in the utility grid. In general, the one or more distributed secondary grid devices will be associated with a subset of the utility grid that is associated with the primary grid device (e.g., a sub-grid). Once a determination has been made, the primary grid device may dynamically distribute the grid application function, or a portion thereof, to the distributed secondary devices according to the determination. In addition, in another embodiment, the grid application function may also be withdrawn, such as from a particular secondary grid device or else from the primary grid device to an originating grid device.

    摘要: Technologies are generally described for alleviating solar power congestion in a distribution grid via smart metering communications. According to some examples, a power network system supervised by utility operators may monitor and control grid-tied power generation modules associated with consumers to ensure the distribution grid is stable in terms of network capacity limit. A communications infrastructure including home area networks (HANs) and neighborhood area networks (NANs) between smart meters and utility control centers may facilitate power congestion management. Utility control centers (UCCs) in cooperation with smart meters or energy management units (EMUs) may selectively disconnect consumer power generation units to maintain the system reliability.

    摘要: A method and system provides a central controller that can communicate across different types of networks to reach various energy load control devices. Energy load control devices can include, but are not limited to, thermostats, load control switches such as Digital Control Units (DCUs), and gateways or network interfaces coupled to the Internet, etc. This ability to communicate across different types of networks allows the central controller to monitor as well as issue command signals to the various energy load control devices. The central controller can provide geographic maps on displays, such as a computer display, which list the relative locations of energy load control devices with respect to their geography or physical locations. The central controller can also provide a topology that can be customized so that a user can visualize and select groups of energy load control devices according to the user's customized topology.
