Abstract: Data processing systems disclosed herein may promote satisfaction of a rider of a vehicle and include a machine learning model and a vehicle control system. The machine learning model determines a measure of an emotional state of the rider based on data received from a sensor associated with the rider, where the data is indicative of a physiological condition of the rider. The vehicle control system: determines a target value of an operating parameter of the vehicle based on a correlation between the emotional state of the rider and the target value of the operating parameter; and adjusts the operating parameter of the vehicle based on the target value of the operating parameter.

Abstract: A vehicle may include a frame structure, a body mounted to the frame structure, and a vehicle navigation system. The vehicle navigation system may include a navigation sensor mounted to the frame structure, and a processor in communication with the navigation sensor. The navigation sensor may be configured to detect reference elements disposed in or on a road on which the vehicle travels. The processor may be configured to receive, from the navigation sensor, signals indicative of a sequence or pattern of detected reference elements. The processor may also be configured to determine, using the received signals, at least one of a position, velocity, or orientation of the vehicle on the road.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems for painting driving assistance markings using one or more paint materials which are visible in a plurality of light spectral ranges, in particular, visible light and one or more infrared light spectral ranges. Further disclosed are methods and systems for analyzing images captured in multiple spectral ranges to identify the driving assistance markings and/or part thereof in a plurality of different spectral ranges and identify aggregated driving assistance markings by aggregating the driving assistance markings identified in the plurality of different spectral ranges. Also disclosed herein are methods and systems for presenting and detecting enhanced driving assistance markings on one or more elements under one or more paint materials which are highly transparent in one or more infrared spectral ranges while reflecting visible light conforming to a color of the element(s) surface thus not affecting appearance of the element(s) in the visible light spectrum.

Abstract: Methods and systems for controlling navigation of an autonomous vehicle for traversing a drivable area are disclosed. The methods include receiving information relating to a drivable area that includes a plurality of polygons, identifying a plurality of logical edges that form a boundary of the drivable area, sequentially and repeatedly analyzing concavities of each the plurality of logical edges until identification of a first logical edge that has a concavity greater than a threshold, creating a first logical segment of the boundary of the drivable area. This segmentation may be repeated until each of the plurality of logical edges has been classified. The method may include creating and adding (to a map) a data representation of the drivable area that comprises an indication of the plurality of logical segments, and adding the data representation to a road network map comprising the drivable area.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling a first vehicle autonomously are disclosed. For instance, one or more processors may plan to maneuver the first vehicle to complete an action and predict that a second vehicle will take a particular responsive action. The first vehicle is then maneuvered towards completing the action in a way that would allow the first vehicle to cancel completing the action without causing a collision between the first vehicle and the second vehicle, and in order to indicate to the second vehicle or a driver of the second vehicle that the first vehicle is attempting to complete the action. Thereafter, when the first vehicle is determined to be able to take the action, the action is completed by controlling the first vehicle autonomously according to whether the second vehicle begins to take the particular responsive action.
