    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a base station may configure a set of transmission parts each including different sets of time domain resources or different sets of frequency domain resources, or both, and may specify a waveform type for each of the set of transmission parts. In some examples, the base station may configure the set of transmission parts for a user equipment (UE) and, accordingly, the UE and the base station may communicate over a transmission part of the set of transmission parts via signaling that is based on a waveform type that is associated with the transmission part over which the UE and the base station communicate. The base station may control over which transmission part of the set of transmission parts the UE and the base station communicate via a configured timer or via explicit activation and deactivation signaling.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for a rearrangement scheme for a Faster-than-Nyquist (FTN) waveform are described. An example method includes a user equipment (UE) receiving a phase rearrangement indication from a network entity, the phase rearrangement indication indicating one or more parameters associated with a phase rearrangement process for a FTN discrete Fourier transformation spread orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (DFT-s-OFDM) transmission scheme. The method may also include transmitting a signal based at least in part on the phase rearrangement indication and according to the DFT-s-OFDM transmission scheme. Another example method includes a network entity transmitting a phase rearrangement indication indicating one or more parameters associated with a phase rearrangement process for a DFT-s-OFDM transmission scheme and receiving a signal based at least in part on the phase rearrangement indication and according to the DFT-s-OFDM transmission scheme.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for waveform parameters adaptation. Aspects provide for adapting waveforms to account for impairments that can occur when communicating in a high frequency band. A method that may be performed by a base station (BS) includes detecting one or more impairment conditions. The method includes determining a plurality of waveform parameters to adapt in response to the detected one or more impairment conditions. The method includes signaling the plurality of adapted waveform parameters to a user equipment (UE).
