Abstract: Techniques for autonomous uplink (AUL) transmissions are provided that allow for efficient use of shared radio frequency spectrum band resources. A user equipment (UE) may determine a duration of an AUL transmission and modify an uplink waveform or provide an indication to a base station of one or more channel resources that may be available for base station transmissions, in order to more fully utilize shared radio frequency spectrum band resources within a maximum channel occupancy time (MCOT). A base station may activate or deactivate AUL transmissions through downlink control information (DCI) transmitted to the UE. A UE and base station may exchange various other control information to provide relatively efficient autonomous uplink transmissions and use of the shared radio frequency spectrum band resources.

Abstract: Described herein are techniques for reducing interference to non-cellular communications on an unlicensed band by a network entity sending/receiving cellular communications on the unlicensed band. For example, the technique may involve accessing a list of channels for cellular communication on the unlicensed band, the list having the channels in an order of priority for reducing interference to non-cellular communication on the unlicensed band. The technique may involve determining an interference criteria for a received signal, the interference criteria being based at in part on at least one of a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) or a duty cycle of the received signal. The technique may involve going through, in the order of priority, each channel in the list to identify a first channel that satisfies the interference criteria.

Abstract: Techniques for prioritizing inter-frequency measurements are disclosed. The method may include identifying a first frequency for measurement that is associated with mobility of an access terminal for transitioning from a serving primary cell to a target primary cell, identifying a second frequency for measurement that is associated with supplemental capacity of the access terminal for adding a secondary cell to operate in conjunction with the serving primary cell, prioritizing the mobility of the access terminal or the supplemental capacity of the access terminal, selecting for measurement in a measurement period either the first frequency or the second frequency based on the prioritizing, and triggering a measurement for the selected frequency.

Abstract: Fractional frequency reuse (FFR) is defined based on a mobility condition of an access terminal. For example, upon determining that an access terminal is moving (or at a cell edge, or experiencing poor link conditions, etc., due to mobility), FFR may be defined for the serving access point of the access terminal and/or for neighbor access points to maintain acceptable link quality for the access terminal. In particular, FFR may be defined in a manner that frees-up or otherwise reserves resources for the access terminal. For example, the serving access point may allocate additional sub-bands for the access terminal and/or increase the power levels used on the sub-bands allocated for the access terminal. In addition, neighbor access points may back-off these sub-bands.

Abstract: Shared spectrum operation is disclosed for sharing spectrum among multiple wireless deployments. Coordination procedures between and among 2nd and 3rd Tier deployments include the use of beacons transmitted by the 2nd Tier for clearing access to spectrum occupied by 3rd Tier users and multiple 3rd Tier deployments sharing resources using a group-listen before talk (LBT) protocol, rather than a per-node LBT protocol. The 2nd Tier beacon signals are transmitted to alert 3rd Tier users of their presence, which, upon detection, will leave the particular spectrum within a predetermined time. For the shared LBT protocol, the 3rd Tier deployments share the channel with each other through an LBT with random backoff, in which the start time of clear channel assessment (CCA) procedure and the random backoff values are synchronized among nodes of the same deployment.
