Abstract: A wireless communication system utilizes a synchronization signal block (SSB) structure to enable beam switching at higher sub carrier spacing (SCS) or uplink transmissions within an SSB. The SSB structure has a first SCS for an SSB transmission and a second SCS for a data transmission. The SSB structure is based on the first SCS and the second SCS, with the SSB structure including at least one gap between SSB symbols or between SSBs. The wireless communication system transmits or receives an SSB based on the SSB structure. A base station may transmit a downlink signal during the gap, for example, where the second SCS is much greater than the first SCS. A user equipment may transmit an uplink signal such as an acknowledgment during the at least one gap. The user equipment or the base station may perform analog beam switching during the at least one gap between SSBs.

Abstract: Subcarrier spacing (SCS) for data may be adapted or dynamically configured based on the occurrence or presence of a synchronization signal block (SSB) transmission. For example, during a SSB transmission, the SCS of data may be automatically switched from some default data SCS to a second SCS (e.g., the SCS of the SSB) to allow for frequency division multiplexing (FDM) of data and SSB where the data and SSB use the same numerology. As such, communicating devices (e.g., a base station and a user equipment (UE)) may identify some location or configuration for a SSB, and may determine a second subcarrier spacing (e.g., a subcarrier spacing associated with the SSB) such that the SCS of data may be adapted to the second subcarrier spacing during the FDM of the SSB and the data. The SSB and data may thus be contemporaneously transmitted or received using the second SCS.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may identify control information to be transmitted, in a slot, to a user equipment (UE). The base station may determine a configuration for splitting a control resource set for the control information into a first component control resource set and a second component control resource set within a supported bandwidth of the UE. The first component control resource set may be frequency diverse and time diverse from the second component control resource set. The base station may transmit the configuration to the UE.

A user equipment (UE) may receive, in a control channel, a first grant identifying a first set of resources of a first data channel on which the UE is to monitor for one or more second grants, the first data channel being downlink. The UE may monitor the first set of resources in the first data channel for the one or more second grants, the one or more second grants identifying a second set of resources of a second data channel on which the UE is to perform data communications. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on the monitoring the first set of resources, a feedback message associated with receipt of the one or more second grants.
