Abstract: An intra prediction method by using cross component liner prediction mode (CCLM), includes: determining a luma block corresponding to a current chroma block; obtaining luma reference samples of the luma block based on determining L available chroma reference samples of the current chroma block, wherein the obtained luma reference samples of the luma block are down-sampled luma reference samples; calculating linear model coefficients based on the luma reference samples and chroma reference samples that correspond to the luma reference samples; and obtaining a prediction for the current chroma block based on the linear model coefficients and values of a down-sampled luma block of the luma block.

Abstract: Devices and methods for Intra prediction are provided. The method includes: obtaining a value of a first indication information of a current block and a value of a reference index line of the current block. When the value of the first indication information indicates the intra prediction mode of the current block is comprised in the set of most probable modes, and when the value of the reference index line indicates the closest neighboring reference line to the current block is used, the method further includes obtaining a value of a second indication information of the current block, the value of the second indication information of the current block indicating whether the intra prediction mode of the current block is Planar mode or not. The method can improve the efficiency to determine the intra prediction mode of the current block.

Abstract: A decoding method and a decoder for decoding a current block of a video frame is provided, wherein the decoding method comprises determining a list of Most Probable Modes (MPMs) for the current block. When at least one condition is satisfied, the list of MPMs includes a DC mode, a Vertical mode, a Horizontal mode, an intra prediction mode corresponding to a value of the Vertical mode with a first offset, and an intra prediction mode corresponding to the value of the Vertical mode with a second offset. The decoding method further includes obtaining a MPM flag and a MPM index for the current block from a bitstream of the video, and obtaining an intra prediction mode for the current block for reconstructing the current block.

Abstract: A video coding mechanism is disclosed. The mechanism includes partitioning an image to create at least one coding tree unit (CTU) with at least one coding tree node. The mechanism further includes determining that the coding tree node height is twice a maximum transform unit (TU) height and the coding tree node width is twice a maximum TU width. The mechanism further includes selecting a split mode for the coding tree node based on the determination. The split mode is selected from a quad-tree split, a horizontal binary-tree split, and no split. The mechanism further includes applying the split mode to the coding tree node to create one or more coding units (CUs). The mechanism further includes encoding the CUs into a bitstream. The mechanism further includes transmitting the bitstream toward a decoder.

Abstract: This application provides a motion vector obtaining method and apparatus. The method includes: determining a target offset vector of a block and identifier information of a target picture, wherein the block comprises at least one sub-block; determining a location of the sub-block; determining, as a target location coordinate value of a collocated sub-block, a location coordinate value obtained by performing a clipping operation on an initial location coordinate value in a range, wherein the initial location coordinate value is based on the location of the sub-block and the target offset vector; and obtaining a motion vector of the sub-block based on a motion vector corresponding to the target location coordinate value. Thus, a range of the target offset vector is limited, so that a quantity of memory read times can be reduced in a process of obtaining the motion vector of the collocated sub-block.
