摘要: A printer driver of a host computer checks the size of RAM of a dumb printer. There are prepared print data comprising a bit image, which has resolution and levels of halftone matching the size of the RAM. Print data are divided into data on a per-pagebasis or a per-band basis. While managing the sequence of band data pertaining to individual pages of the print data, a print monitor sequentially sends the band data to the dumb printer. Every time one of the band data sets is transmitted, the print monitor receives, from the dumb printer, data pertaining to the current status of or an error in the dumb printer. The thus-received data are indicated on a display. In accordance with the printer status or an error in the printer, the print monitor controls the dumb printer so as to transmit subsequent band data, suspend transmission of subsequent band data, or re-transmit subsequent band data. The print monitor retains print data pertaining to an individual page until the completion of printing of the page is reported by the dumb printer. If there arises a necessity for print data pertaining to individual pages as a result of occurrence of an error, the print monitor re-transmits the data pertaining to the page.

摘要: A head lamp device includes a structure in which a discharge lamp has a discharge bulb and a reflector of a substantially hemispheric shape arranged in an upper part of a housing. A filament including a filament bulb and a reflector of a substantially hemispheric shape is arranged in a lower part of the housing. The front opening of the lamp housing is covered by a front lens. The discharge bulb can generate two to three times as much luminous flux as a conventional filament bulb. As a result, it is possible to reduce the size of the discharge bulb as compared to the filament bulb. This makes it possible to reduce the overall size of the head lamp device.

摘要: A liquid crystal display system which can accept display data having a resolution different from that of a screen for the liquid crystal display and display the display data. For example, a CPU outputs display data of 1120.times.780 dots and a liquid crystal panel has a 1024.times.768-dot resolution which is smaller than the display data resolution. The display screen of the liquid crystal panel comprises a linear arrangement of pixels. A data conversion section generates display data for a new horizontal or vertical line based on display data for two horizontal or vertical lines contiguous to each other and repeats replacement of display data of the two lines with the display data of the one line for reducing the number of horizontal lines of one screen and the number of dots of one line so as to match the resolution of the display data output by the CPU with the liquid crystal display. In contrast, if the resolution of the display data is smaller than the screen resolution of the liquid crystal panel, the data conversion section inserts the display data of the new one horizontal or vertical line between the two contiguous lines for enlarging the resolution of the display data.

摘要: To minimize excessive temperature elevation when in a fast idle state for an engine covered with a cowling, and to prevent heat damage to the cowling, for motorcycles. A radiator and an electric radiator fan are positioned ahead of a watercooled engine and are installed inside a cowling C. When a transmission neutral sensor detects when the transmission is in neutral and a engine speed sensor detects a speed at or over a fast idle speed of the engine both output a high-level signal continuously for a specific length of time to a timer. This state is recognized as the fast idle state of the engine, the transistor is switched on, and the electric motor of the radiator fan 17 is actuated.
