摘要: A display device with a touch pad function is provided which reduces the elements required to form a photo sensor while still accurately detecting input coordinate positions. The display device includes a display part on which a plurality of pixels are arranged in a matrix array, a plurality of photo detection circuits which are arranged in a matrix array in the inside of the display part, wherein each photo detection circuit of the plurality of photo detection circuits includes: a photo sensor which converts an incident light into a optical current corresponding to intensity of the incident light, an integral capacitance which integrates the optical current converted by the photo sensor, and a comparator to which a voltage of the integral capacitance is inputted, and the comparator includes a transistor of an open drain output type with a grounded source.

The image display device includes a light emitting drive means that drives a light emitting means, based on an analog display signal inputted to the pixels, and a light emitting control switch for controlling a light-on or light-off of the light emitting means on one end of the light emitting drive means in each pixel.

摘要: Provided is an electrostatic capacitance type touch panel, wherein lead lines are connected to respective end portions of at least either one of the X electrodes and the Y electrodes respectively, the touch panel further comprises an inspection electrode which is laminated to respective end portions of the at least either one of the X electrodes and the Y electrodes with an insulation film sandwiched therebetween on a side where the lead lines are not connected to the at least either one of the X electrodes and the Y electrodes, and a voltage for inspection is supplied to the inspection electrode during an inspection time and a voltage at the same phase as the drive voltage supplied to the at least either one of the X electrodes and the Y electrodes is supplied to the inspection electrode during a usual operation time.

摘要: A liquid crystal display device for displaying video data having a detection circuit for detecting a luminance distribution based on video data which is inputted, the luminance distribution being indicative of generation frequency of gradations in each of divided region which includes a plurality of gradations. The display device includes a determination circuit for determining at least one of a plurality of divided regions of higher generation frequency of gradation than that of other divided regions based on the luminance distribution, a correction circuit for correcting the video data so as to make a luminance characteristic of the at least one of the plurality of divided regions of higher generation frequency of gradation more abrupt than a luminance characteristic of the other divided regions, and a liquid crystal display panel for displaying the corrected video data. A width of the divided region is changeable.

摘要: A touch panel includes plural first electrodes extending in a first direction, plural second electrodes extending in a second direction different from the first direction, a driving circuit, a detection circuit, and a coordinate-position calculating circuit. The driving circuit sequentially selects two first electrodes out of the plural first electrodes, supplies a high potential voltage higher than a reference voltage to one of the selected two first electrodes, and supplies the reference voltage to the other, the detection circuit detects a capacitance difference (A-B) between a capacitor A between a selected one of the second electrodes and the first electrode to which the high potential voltage is supplied and a capacitor B between the selected second electrode and the first electrode to which the reference voltage is supplied, and the coordinate-position calculating circuit calculates a touch position on the touch panel touched by the observer on the basis of positions of the selected first and second electrodes and the capacitance difference (A-B).

摘要: An image display is provided with a display area including pixels, each including illuminating means. A control circuit turns the illuminating means of the pixels on and off. A capacitance is provided having a first node connected to an input terminal of the control circuit. A display signal voltage generation circuit generates display signal voltages for the pixels, while a pixel drive voltage generation circuit generates pixel drive voltages for the pixels. In addition, a connecter is provided for connecting either one of the display signal voltages or the pixel drive voltages to a second node of the capacitance.

摘要: An image display is provided with a display area including pixels, each including illuminating means. A control circuit turns the illuminating means of the pixels on and off. A capacitance is provided having a first node connected to an input terminal of the control circuit. 摘要: A display device includes plural red, green, and blue pixels provided with current-driven type red-, green-, and blue-light-emitting elements, respectively. A method of driving the display device includes writing a video signal voltage into each of the pixels in a state in which all the light-emitting elements cease to emit light during a first portion of one frame period at a beginning thereof, and then operating a respective one of the light-emitting elements to emit light during at least one portion of the one frame period succeeding the first portion. Each of the at least one portion of the one frame period is determined by light emission characteristics of the respective one of the light-emitting elements, and also is determined by the video signal voltage of the respective one of the pixels.

摘要: A dot matrix display system for multiple-tone displays, including a display device in which pixels are arrayed in a matrix shape, an LC (liquid-crystal) drive signal generator which converts color display data into LC display data, an 8-level data driver which selects one of 8-level voltages in accordance with the LC display data and then delivers the selected voltage, and an 8-level applied LC voltage generator by which the 8-level applied LC voltages to be applied to the pixels are produced so as to substantially make uniform color differences between the respectively adjacent tones of the multiple-tone displays. Owing to the substantially uniform color differences between the respectively adjacent tones, the multiple-tone displays which are uniformly seen by the human eye can be realized.
